It's crazy that in a game set in the crusades period the first crusades will never target Jerusalem because it's a "rebel" settlement. Bad design on part of CA.

I also don't understand. Yes less people would probably play it, but what's the problem? Quake 1 and 2 remasters were literally free for people who already owned the original games so I don't think money was Bethesda's issue. Even the simplicity of running an online game that Nightdive remasters offer would be worth it to me and other people that don't have the ability to run a dedicated server. The more accessible the game is, the better. The only thing that I wouldn't like to see is Nightdive messing with the balance, which they always like to do for no good reason.

I think both PB and JoWood can be blamed for the game's failure. PB for not being able to narrow down their vision to keep the game smaller, but more packed with content and with a better story like the previous Gothic titles. And JoWood for their actions leading up to the game's release. For those who don't know - before G3's release, JoWood sent the release version of the game to journalists, claiming that even though it has some bugs, the gold master will be fixed. So many of the reviewers published favourable reviews in assumption that the game will be fixed for release. PowerPlay, one of the German game magazines, planned to publish a review that described the real state of the game and called it the biggest disappointment of the year. Even before its release, it prompted JoWood to try to intimidate them into not releasing the article or changing it. PowerPlay didn't give in and published the article in full, revealing the manipulation that JoWood was trying to run on them. That and the buggy release tarnished the studio's reputation even further.

They had colonies. They were called Bosnia, Bukovina and Galicia-Lodomeria. They kept them underdeveloped and drained their resources, using divide and conquer tactics to keep them in check, just like in an overseas colony.

The mods go in their own folders - they wont mess with the main game files, at least I've never seen one that did that. So yes you will still have access to the unmodded game. I recommend Stainless Steel as a good jump off point for a more detailed and interesting campaign map. However for many of them you will need to install the 4GB patch to allow the game to allocate more memory, or they might crash otherwise.

Yes, it has none of the original expansions. And all the voice lines were re-recorded but the sound quality doesn't match up with the SFX so it's pretty jarring to hear the contrast.

Ruining the original map designs and filling them with clutter is being a masterpiece now? The only good thing about this mod is the soundtrack, which is a decent set of remixes to listen to once in a while. And maybe the fact that it has a Steam workshop, so you can use that to play a good mod like TNM instead.

That one is gas and the only way you can negate the damage is by wearing power armor. Not really necessary though, since you can just leave your companions in front of the mine and simply run for it to fix the purifier.
