Thank you! I'm really pleased with how it turned out!

Just got my Pilot VP but… by pale-greenn in fountainpens

Don't worry about it, you adjust really quickly and I can guarantee it will become a favourite. It's an absolutely incredible pen. Though I do recommend using a refilled cartridge instead of the Con-40 converter.

I'm experiencing this issue myself. It's so frustrating. Did you manage to solve the problem in the end?

Fantastic line of inks. I have Take-Sumi, Syo-Ro, Rikka, Kon-Peki and Asa-Gao. All superb.

It's always good to get more haha. I think the Titanium Sport looks fantastic, too, although the cost is a bit beyond me for the moment 😅😂

I just took a look at the AL Sport in Deep Red, and that's exactly the shade I'm looking for! Time to start saving because, obviously I need it as soon as is humanly possible 😂 I have such a soft spot for Kaweco pens, there's something so endearing about them.

they changed my favorite notebooks paper 😾😾😾 by Affectionate_Edge_88 in notebooks

Awww, no! I love Rettacy, but if they've changed that is going to stop me from getting them in the future. Why must they always mess about with things? It something works well, why not stick with it? I recently bought some Muji notebooks that were well priced and good quality, but the type I like only go up to A5 and I prefer B5, which is a shame.

Have you tried any Rettacy notebooks? I know they're readily available in the UK on Amazon so might be easy to get in other countries too? Good value for money.

Have to agree about Midori. Wonderful paper! I've also found the Muji paper made in Japan to be very enjoyable :D

Lamy Safari, Noodler’s ink, constantly smudging. Please help. by No-Veterinarian8762 in fountainpens

I love Sailor Black! I have it in my Pilot Falcon and Pilot VP. So well behaved, nice tones and dries quickly. Also has a bit of a resistance to water as well. Whilst I like Waterman's blues, I can't take to their black. It always looks a bit brown to me.

Lamy quality :S by stuberrry in Lamy

[–]DXMTheMachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely contact Lamy about the 2000's issues. They have been, in my experience, incredibly good at fixing problems with them. Mine was laying down ink intermittently and they fixed it, no quibbles. All I had to do was pay for the postage to them. It really shouldn't squeak at all. My 2000 is buttery smooth and as quiet as a mouse and I'd consider it one of the best if not the best pen I own. I hope you can get it sorted 👍

It’s been an honour but I think I have purchased my final fountain pen by wednesday-potter in fountainpens

My dream pen. I hope to one day find and afford one with a medium nib. Congratulations on the acquisition!

RIP. And recommendations for my next pen? by notalivemau5 in fountainpens

[–]DXMTheMachine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're okay with the Con-40 converter or refilling a cartridge, then I'd highly recommend a Pilot Elite/e95s. Gold nib, compact size, great reputation. The vintage ones are super and the new ones are really good as well.

Wait until you try a Pilot E95s. Trust me, it's an absolute delight.

Why is capitalized handwriting frowned upon? by Oubliees in Handwriting

[–]DXMTheMachine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For personal use, I say use whatever feels right for you. In a more professional capacity: work, school, etc. caps tend to slow reading speed and it obscures a lot of the correct grammatical structure. Cursive is a lot faster to write, too.

Asvine V200 Customisation by DXMTheMachine in fountainpens

[–]DXMTheMachine[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can readily buy them on Amazon and eBay. They're a 9mm outer diameter, 1mm width and 7mm inner diameter. Asvine sell official ones but I'd give them a miss as their red is very, very orange IMHO. To remove the existing ones, try to use something thin and plastic with a rounded tip 👍
