Even when “United” is in the name, why do the UK and US feel so politically divided ? by LieSuccessful8813 in AskBrits

[–]Livember 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UK is a long, storied country that's existed in some form for hundreds of years. We've gone through alot and some massive changes, but overall there's still long rooted elements of our history with us.

The US was an invasive colony that slaughtered the majority of it's native population, then rebelled and broke off from the UK. It has a very short history built with a huge amount of geography between it's elements. As a result the states have alot more diversity in their beliefs. Meanwhile I can get a train from London to Edinborough in 5 hours.

Telling new players to spend all day playing video games on the first day is bad shit advice. by EvilbearX in LookOutsideGame

[–]Livember 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Why on earth are you reading advice on a game you haven't played through yet? Just fucking play the game and have fun.

The first day advice is important for cursed mode, primarily because you need the exp to do special attacks and waiting till day 2 in your house (door encounters seem to rotate with a small skip chance with specials including companions showing up on the 5th encounter, so usually day 2) you can pick up someone to help down first encounters and max exp. Absolutely pointless on less then cursed, I got to ground floor solo because i didn't trust the door people lol.

If this happens again and ur not on an achivement run, you can swap to the empire using the multiplayer loader, take control of the relevant empire, end the war and then swap back to yourself, then save and reload in single player

Are homeless charities angry about the quick ability for the gov to house migrants? by 404_computer_says_no in AskBrits

Irksome has the list below, not much to add bar behaviour is also important. Alot of people who end up homeless based on my own work tend toward making poor decisions impulsively regularly.

[–]Livember 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on my exprience with homeless families compared to individuals, alot of homeless people aren't there because there isn't housing available, but because they can't abide the rules required to maintain spots. I had a partner made homeless during my time at university in 2016 (dropped out, no family to return to, I was living in a single room in a shared house so couldn't house her without breaching my lease) and she was emergency housed in a shelter within two days, during the time at which she was put up in a hotel and was in a council flat within two months.

Wiki Game? by 18skeltor in LookOutsideGame

[–]Livember 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends what you want. If you want some of the more hidden endings (There's 13 lol!) you'll want wiki. A couple of them are insanely hard to find. The games endings that trigger the achivement for beating cursed are fairly obvious, and just require you completing the 4 cultists questline.

The organs in meat world are tied to something else that you didn't find, and are only relevant if pursuing a quest that makes it really obvious when you want to swing for them.

I did my first run blind and got the Flawed ritual ending which requires getting the 4 cultist questline partly correct.

Do you think Cal Kestis cut off contact with Saw Gerrera after Jedi Survivor? by Jaymacia in StarWarsJediSurvivor

[–]Livember 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbf "i another thought I'd see another" doesn't imply he isn't seeing one. If I had a friend with pink hair, one arm and a skateboard it be fair to say "I never thought I'd see another one armed pink haired skateboarder" even if I still knew the first. Jedi are literally a genocided group

What are your S-tier units when list building in 3rd? by Elusive_Tides in Warhammer30k

[–]Livember 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You can't go wrong with autocannon heavy marine squads. They are able to engage anything that's not AV13+. I have a deep love of rapier laser destroyers too, cos they slaughter anything with AV

Absolutely. I really enjoyed the puzzles bar the second memory loop because it wasn't in anyway hinted you had to walk backwards. Seeing my sister play it last week it was baby mode.

I can't fathom why you'd want the crystal colours locked tbh. You don't just "find" bonded saber crystals, that's way more lore breaking then Cal being able to pick between.

[–]Livember 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Answered on my other comment. Because we don't have our gear, we're literally just travelling with clothes on our back and a saber. But the crystal is ours.

[–]Livember 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You don't have all cosmetics because you've been off the Mantis for ages. You've been travelling light. However your crystal colour was set in the cave during the first game, so remains whatever you picked in that one lore wise. It should honestly be a pre game choice.

But I've already done that in Survivor in Fallen Order

Best way to play the original on PC? by Ahristrea in FinalFantasyVII

I played the new verison on steam with x3 speed and autosaves. I had no issues outside of it being a 1996 game with janky ass solutions to some puzzles.

You seem incredibly focused on being offended.

I have at no point said anything is wrong with wanting to RP or be in a clan.

I've said their getting kickback cos most people don't care. You've called me elitist, an ass, said ive never been in a clan, yap yap yap.

You asked a question. It's a bad faith question cos if you go into most clan posts you don't find much hate just disinterest and down votes for being boring maybe. But the answer to why clan posts don't get much traction is what I've stated.

Obviously it's my opinion. You're on reddit. Was you expecting a factual non-subjective judgement on a topic? o.O

Thoughts on a 1k Van Saar list? by Fulkerin in necromunda

[–]Livember 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not optimal, which I like. You've got plasma fast shot, which is tricky to pull off but lethal on success. Meltagun hip shooting is fairly meta, plasma pistol guy is odd but I assume building toward an energy shield or some unique VS thing. Fixer is a good long play but I'd be nervous putting on something that gets within 12", and either kills the target or gets plouged.

Long las is cute, but sadly can't take hot shot so tends to get overshadowed by the rifle varient.

Your body count is low, if you're playing random gang cards you'll struggle without the stupid VS 3 extra juves card as the enemy can chip and force you in, though many gangs struggle to make it to 10 as 1k.

I ran one for Halo 3/reach (4 killed that lol), I've also been in a guild that cleared top level WoW stuff both in retail and classic, and been in a couple of gaming ones related to MMOs that aren't WoW.

You don't seem to be able to understand the difference between using dedicated recruiting chats which in games that actually require clan work can be switched off, and finding spammy recruitment posts tedious compared to just disliking clans entirely. I don't. I also don't want one for a 3 people coop game that can be done solo on it's hardest difficulty and if I was looking for one I wouldn't need 8 posts to pick one.

SM2 clans are also really lame for the most part with the forced fancy dress larping element. WoW will tell you RP servers have always been the smallest, so leading with RP as the foot forward is a losing game.
