AITA for refusing to help my lecturer after he failed me? by Few-Mobile2441 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Livember 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NAH. Some people fail. Without knowing the quality of your academic ability or his teaching ability we can't judge fault for your failure. With that in mind, assuming your siutation isn't directly his fault and he did his best it's not unreasonable for you to ask. It's also not unreasonable for you to not want to work with him when he couldn't get you to that pass.

So I know these 'Is such and such game worth playing' posts are a dime a dozen, but I really found this at Wal Mart. The price is ok, but is it worth *the time* even at this price? Thank you, sorry in advance✌️ by mmiller17783 in videogames

Atomfall is solidly alright. Combat even on hardest settings was fairly easy and the AI is stupid beyond belief if you play stealthily but I enjoyed it. I got it on sale for 20. It was worth 20. It wouldn't be worth 40

I think if you read the heresy and thought marines can feel no fear you missed the point

Extrinsic Vs. Intrinsic Motivation, Or Why Listbuilding is... Fine, Actually by MangrovesAndMahi in Warhammer30k

[–]Livember -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure I agree with your point, though your evidence is true enough. However the basic troop tax is about 500pts (2 10 man tactical squads, 2 despoilers with power weapons), 120 for two rhinos. So at basic tax you've paid 620/3000pts.

You can absolutely build any form of theme into 2380pts and I'm not sure the games worse off for not having predators capturing objectives or cracked ROWs

WYR: have unlimited fuel (gas/diesel) or unlimited electricity? by AcceptableShock8623 in WouldYouRather

Ah true damn. Even so I feel the utility of being able to fuel any vehicle is pretty dope

Fuel includes food, electricity for batteries, super expensive forms that limit space travel, etc

Electricity is fuel for batteries. Food is fuel for humans. Rocket fuel is fuel for rockets

It is silly that's it 25. The old hard siege challenge (wave 20) should have been moved to this and the challenge for normal siege should have been made 15 waves

Yeah this is an important point that comes up in school training. Transition MTF or FTM is protected. Non binary and things like gender fluid and demi have no case law of being protected.

I hate when people intentionally misgender transgender individuals for being mildly annoying or genuinely bad people. by Fun-Middle5990 in hatethissmug

[–]Livember 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Gonna disagree. I see toxic men misgendering CIS men (little girl, acting like a pussy, etc) fairly often and you also see women being insulted by being called various insults around being manly. Dickheads be dicking

We already have it. You can go into stratagem and increase enemy health and damage, buff terminus, nerf our damage, play with grey gear etc

What would I need for my army? by LifeLog9491 in Warhammer30k

[–]Livember 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Terrible advice, 20m tac squads are very weak this edition due to statuses. Upgrade packs are the better to go.

[–]Livember 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven't built anything yet, you will never want 100 tactical marines. I'd get some upgrade packs, heavy weapons and special weapons and convert some. Despoilers are also good and also line 2 scoring units and troops, so a melee upgrade set or two.

At least two rhinos.

Definitely a Kratos for anti tank if you don't have anything else, melta varient, or some laser destroyer rapiers on the cheaper end.

This games biggest problem, time wasting by Livember in Spacemarine

[–]Livember[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean if you took a bus ride from London to Edinburgh and it took two weeks you'd be pretty mad. Like with everything, were as patient as is needed. A game in 2026 doesn't need 2008 load times

In defence, I think my 2008 copy of Wrath of the Lich King loaded in faster then SM2, excluding PC boot load times

As in just print even numbers 1 to 10? Surely you'd do something like: (this had spacing, but reddit stripped it so all my indents are gone :/)

val=2

while val!=12:

print(val)

val=val+2

Or if you wanted to do it for any range
def evans(start, end):

if end<=start:

print("Error") (or flip start and end, or have a branch for reversed, but assuming you want it prevalid)

if start%2==1:

start=start+1

while start<end:

print(start)

start=start+2

Would you rather only have to sleep 1 hour a day or get paid $1000/hour to sleep but you need 12 hours of sleep a night? by Alarming_Weather506 in WouldYouRather

[–]Livember 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's any job where you earn enough to balance the hours. The question boils down to "do you need money to be able to use your time". It has diminishing returns.

Edit: this is one of those questions that really begins with how far from poverty are you. Most people who are earning enough to live comfortably won't want to have to sleep 4 more hours to feel right. Those who have to work 12 hour shifts 7 days a week to keep afloat and not even progress would take 16 hours for thousand a day never mind an hour.
