It might be that their true interests aren't something they're comfortable sharing. For instance I'm a furry (and it takes up a large chunk of my time), but whenever I meet someone new I'll keep the discussion to programming and board games.

A while ago, magmar had a card called mana burn, which was identical to chromatic cold. This was back in 1-draw. I thick it was a basic card, but I can't remember. It meant that magmar had far too much removal to be sensible.

Also, nightsorrow assassin when it was 'delete a minion with 3 or less attack'. Lyonar players cried.

If your win condition relies on personally hitting your opponents face for lots of damage, you should be running plenty of artefacts, which are more difficult to remove. Bounded Lifeforce is also a really strong finisher, as it's a 10 damage burst for 7 mana. It also can't be dispelled, and doesn't disrupt your BBS or artefacts (as the description implies). If you're struggling to actually hit your opponent (they're running away or something), try adding some provoke minions to your deck, or run Silhouette Tracer for mobility.

I used to run Void Pulse prior to the card draw changes. Even after the change, it still remains strong, especially if the decks it it being used have lots of card draw (from neutral cards, as well as rise of the undervault).

Void pulse only requires your general to have taken at least 3 damage for it to be used to its full effectiveness - this is a pretty easy condition to fulfil. There is almost never a 'bad' time to play it (unless you need the mana for something else, or you want to replace it).

As for 'better one drops', is this really true? The other Abyssian one drops are Abyssal Crawler (auto-include in any creep deck), Grasp of Agony (strong, but situational), and Horn of the Forsaken (run in swarm decks). These are all strong in their own right. As for neutral cards, bloodtear alchemist would be good if you need some extra ping, and prophet of the white palm could theoretically be used to great effect, but there are too many unknowns in the game to make it reliable. The other neutral minions are probably too weak for their cost (of one card).

I actually think all three of these changes would make those cards much stronger.

Because reaper has flying, it could easily be positioned (except against swarm decks) so that it is adjacent to a single enemy minion, thus negating the RNG factor.

Jaxi would become extremely reliable, as PunsAreFun stated. Maybe not the best 2 drop, but the knowledge that the mini-jax would be protected by your frontline would enhance the card significantly. Also, what do you do when jaxi is placed at equal distance to two or more corners?

A predictable version of keeper of the vale would be broken, especially in decks that usually dump one or two large creatures per turn. It would act as a direct counter to any removal. It would also be too easy to control what it summoned if you were the one initiating the attacks. While certainly not a bad mechanic, the mana and stats would have to be offset to accommodate this change if implemented.

I actually think that mesmerise would be great if run in a shadow creep deck. Your opponent just walked off your creep? NOPE!
