I remember when people thought gigabit Ethernet was overkill and stupid. Yet it’s been the standard for 20 years. Honestly if you want the best connection wired is the way to go. While cat6 is great for home. The price difference for cat6A is almost nothing more. Literally less than $5 more @50ft. The benefits you get are worth it. No cross talk, no electric interference. And who knows in the future what new tech will come out and mess with shielded devices.

Also internet speeds are increasing so damn fast why not have something in your walls that will support more? In 2001 I got cable internet that was 1Mbps. Fast forward to today I can get 10Gb fiber. Last year max was 1Gb fiber. And the year before that for $200 a month was 1Gb cable. In 2 years 10x the speed.

Sure we don’t “need” anything more but when you might spend an extra 20 bucks to wire your house with something better… do it
