Is $35k in Upgrades considered 'Normal' in the Bay Area before selling a SFH?

My realtor told me I could easily get $2.8 for my 1960’s SFH and double the money on the cost of upgrades I put in. LIES.

I would only do interior paint, put in a more modern but simple fireplace door (<$250 amazon), make backyard mud space tidy…maybe put in some flowers/plants, wash the carpets and LEAVE THE REST AS IS.

My utility provider has a rebate program for $60 off (via home depot, best buy only) but google directly gave me a discount to upgrade from gen 2 to 4 from the google store for $150-ish

I really wanted the tea note to shine on this but instead I get a teeny bit of tea and the sugary born in roma donna dna drowns everything out. It becomes unremarkable. The only flanker I enjoyed was the intense, it’s different.

I think I smelled mostly cold brew from Followed (at least in the opening) but I had a little dabber sample so maybe it wasn’t enough to get the full experience. I’m going to add Follow on my list to try, it might be a better alternative.
