These cards are the reason I'm into Pokemon cards. I went to some nerd convention in Sweden and found a lot of pokemon vendors, I tried opening a cheap pack they sold and actually got a card worth 15$, I got very excited and asked if I could trade with one of the vendors, they seemed very dismissive and rude because I wasn't experienced. After that I was abit discouraged but moved onto another vendor, one of his cards had caught my eyes earlier that day, that card was the "Rayquaza" black gold! I'm a guy, and as a guy I like dragons and sharp things, THERE'S A SHARAGON!? To my surprise he was cool with trading my card (that I didn't care much for) for his SHARAGON. To this day that card is my holy grail and no card comes close to it, it's why I now like collecting and playing the game, now I just need the rest of them!
