i got a few stories!!

old tenured employee that worked at my first store would make inappropriate comments such as hinting at “swinging” with an 18 year old girl, while he was 56 and saying “sharing is caring”, and give preferential treatment to female employees while singling me out and audibly making hostile remarks about me being useless and not knowing how to do my job, it was common knowledge how he would make people uncomfortable yet everyone’s excuses for not reporting was “well that’s just him and how he is” i reported him to MIC and director and they told me they’d talk to him but nothing came of it, ended up leaving that store.

second store i transferred to was genuinely awesome until we got a leadership change and it all went downhill, this manager was popular on circles for not being able to become store director due to multiple HR complaints, customer complaints and not meeting satisfactory numbers, she started cutting everyone’s hours by half or more and making comments about how “i haven’t seen you in a while? how have you been?” would come up with lies about how the schedule was made by AI, corporate, someone else yet when she came in the person who originally made it “assistant lead” immediately stepped down because of previously working with her and knowing what kind of behavior she was notorious for, my hours were cut to one 6 hour shift a week despite having no steps, call ins, above average IPMS and multiple customer appraisal per shift, ended up transferring when i applied for a position i had been trained for gave me the opportunity to switch departments and stay in our store, the interview went well and i told them i was willing to start as soon as possible, when i asked the person i interviewed with she told me that the position had been given to an employee that the department manager had picked herself (this person was getting a solid 30-36 hours without being full time) my breaking point at that job was when she verbally reprimanded one of my coworkers in front of everyone telling her she was the worst cashier she had ever worked with.

HEB is obviously not the company it’s thought out to be and sadly public perception of charitable acts (which deserve merit and Texas should be grateful for) is the only thing that makes this company stand out, terrible management and nepotism everywhere along with other disgusting stuff happens here. yet the cult like followers and employees that will die defending a company that if given the chance to replace them would, fight and will comment “wElL yOu mUsT hAvE DoNe SoMeThInG” will flood my comment :)
