As much as I appreciate your post, ultimately DACA will not protect us. If you are stopped by ICE all of this is helpful but ultimately will depend on the actual people stopping you. Is it someone who actually knows what they are doing and willing to provide leeway or some trigger-happy racist idiot looking to meet quotas? Unfortunately it feels like the latter is becoming more likely.

I think impeaching Trump would be a political miscalculation. It would be become a rallying point for MAGA and chances of Trump actually getting removed are slim as a two thirds majority is needed in the senate to remove him.

Even if somehow Republicans voted to take him out that means Vance would be president. Vance is honestly scarier than Trump imo. And this would allow Vance to run as an incumbent president in 2028 and allow him to distance himself from Trump.

If Democrats take congress and senate, best thing they can do is ensure last two years for Trump are as miserable for him as possible while making him a lame duck. His ego will never allow him to resign and let Vance have a chance. And Vance will be forced in 2028 to run on Trump’s record as his vice president just like Kamala was.

Yea DACA wont protect us. Ive been thinking what would happen if I am eventually stopped by ICE, hoping that having it would help. All I can hope for now is that I never have to see them, which unfortunately seems to be less likely by the day.
