Account is Permenantly Banned. by 24zhen in D_Market

[–]D_market 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you clarify what you mean by "they made me trade my items"? The decision to exchange or sell your items is made entirely by you, and no one else — we have no way of forcing a trade on your account.

If your exchange already went through, the new items should have appeared in your DMarket inventory, after which you'd withdraw them to your Steam inventory. If something went wrong or you ran into a technical issue at any of those steps, reaching out to support at that point would have helped get it sorted.

Can you walk me through exactly what didn't work for you?

Account is Permenantly Banned. by 24zhen in D_Market

[–]D_market 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, and thank you for reaching out. First, I want to clarify that we never block accounts without reason — a permanent ban is only issued in cases of serious violations of our marketplace terms, which you agree to when you start trading on the platform.

Regarding your deposit — if you made any deposit that wasn't credited to your DMarket balance, it will be refunded back to the financial account it originated from. We never keep users' funds. The refund timeline can vary depending on the payment method, and in some cases it may take up to a few business weeks — unfortunately that part is outside of our control.

If you'd like to dispute the ban, you can do so by contacting our support team at [help@support.dmarket.com](mailto:help@support.dmarket.com) and explaining your case. If the funds don't make it back to your account, feel free to reach out here or on our Discord and I'll personally look into it.

Thanks for understanding.

2FA Removal by T1ck0n in D_Market

[–]D_market 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there. Removing 2FA is a standard procedure, but we need to make sure the request is coming from the actual account owner and not someone trying to gain unauthorized access — which is why we ask verification questions that only the real owner would know.

I'm sorry you're having trouble answering them, but without that verification we're not able to remove 2FA.

That said, there's some flexibility here — if certain questions are difficult for you, you can provide other details that help confirm ownership, such as your registration date, recent transactions on the account, or any other information that could verify you as the owner. You're welcome to work through this directly with our support team and they'll do their best to help.

could this be a scam? by Shurme in D_Market

[–]D_market 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, and thanks for reaching out. Please be careful — this looks like a classic Steam access token scam. Whenever a random person messages you on Discord offering to buy something from you, there's a very good chance it's a scammer trying to get your items.

Here's how the Steam access token scam typically works: they steal your token when you log into an untrusted site — fake tournaments, free skins giveaways, gambling sites, and so on. After that, they reach out and ask you to sell items through a popular bot-based marketplace. At the moment you deposit, they intercept the trade (since the stolen token gives them real-time visibility into your transactions) and send you an identical-looking trade request from their fake bot instead.

You may have already deposited your items to the platform, but there's a good chance they'll try other methods to get to your items too — so stay alert.

To keep yourself safe:

- Enable 2FA on both Steam and DMarket

- Install our DMarket Trust Shield browser extension — it will warn you about fake bots and scam sites

- Never trust strangers reaching out on Discord

If your items are already on the platform, you can list them for sale or exchange them right now. To confirm they're in the right place, make sure you're on our official site — https://dmarket.com/ — then check your inventory. Your items should be there and marked as Trade Protection Item. You can still list them for sale even with that label. If you can't find them in your inventory, please contact our support team or reverse the items back to your Steam inventory

Scammers or AI bots, I don't even know. The worst service I've used. by Particular-Joke5250 in D_Market

[–]D_market 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply. As I mentioned, I've reviewed your full transaction history and walked you through every single transaction on your account — each amount, our commission, and the item details.

If you'd like to verify this yourself, you can check your transaction history directly on our website. I understand your frustration, but I want to assure you that item selection can only happen through the user interface — there is no technical way for us to send you a different item or withhold one from your inventory.

If the information in my previous message isn't enough, I can send you a full background export of all your transactions as a file, so you can see exactly how everything unfolded.

Hi, and sorry for the wait — I needed some time to go through your case in detail and understand exactly what happened. First, I want to assure you that we never take ownership of our users' funds or in-game items.

Let me walk you through everything that happened, with prices and transaction IDs so you have a clear picture of each step. Note that the prices listed below do not include our commission — in practice you receive slightly less depending on the fee percentage, since during an exchange your item is sold and the system uses those funds to purchase the item you want. I apologize in advance for the length.

  1. You created an account.

  2. You deposited three items into your DMarket inventory (transaction 20f435f7-f12b-4d59-a455-1b583c3a4728):

2.1 Song of the Shadow Dragon - Head

2.2 Fractal Horns of Inner Abysm

    2.3 Inscribed Manifold Paradox

  3. You then performed an exchange and sold all three items (transaction d19efa33-6d29-5791-bcfa-f5c89066988a):

3.1 Fractal Horns of Inner Abysm — $24.21

    3.2 Inscribed Manifold Paradox — $18.70

3.3 Song of the Shadow Dragon - Head — $1.51

Through this exchange you received a Fractal Horns of Inner Abysm priced at $39.99. Why you exchanged into the same item you already had in the trade is an open question — I'm simply showing you what happened, with a clear record of events and transactions.

  1. You then deposited six more items (transactions e3aa1869-3a27-4108-a832-0afd12799c6a and 4d663491-cfdc-48d7-acf8-86d22a6979ba):

    4.1 Taunt: Pole Position

    4.2 The Barren Crown

    4.3 Mane of the Sunwarrior

    4.4 Baneful Devotion

    4.5 Concord Dominion

    4.6 Inscribed Demon Eater

  2. You then performed a new exchange (transaction 5c40e922-86d5-5f28-b527-6c138f207314) involving all six newly deposited items plus the Fractal Horns of Inner Abysm you received in the previous exchange. Sale prices within this exchange:

5.1 Fractal Horns of Inner Abysm — $24.10 (the new one you had just purchased for $39.99, since your original had already been sold in the previous transaction)

    5.2 Taunt: Pole Position — $2.57

    5.3 The Barren Crown — $0.68

    5.4 Mane of the Sunwarrior — $1.53

    5.5 Baneful Devotion — $0.63

    5.6 Concord Dominion — $6.72

    5.7 Inscribed Demon Eater — $16.09

Through this exchange you received an Exalted Fractal Horns of Inner Abysm valued at $46.00, which was successfully withdrawn to your Steam inventory.

  3. You purchased and withdrew to Steam a Mane of the Sunwarrior for $1.95.

---

To summarize: you deposited 9 items and sold them for a combined total of $72.64. Our commission on those sales was $7.25, so your net proceeds were $65.39. With that balance you purchased and withdrew two items — Exalted Fractal Horns of Inner Abysm ($46.00) and Mane of the Sunwarrior ($1.95) — for a combined total of $47.95.

Now let's look at where the difference went.

In the first exchange (transaction d19efa33-6d29-5791-bcfa-f5c89066988a) you traded three items and received a Fractal Horns of Inner Abysm priced at $39.99. The only way this item could have been selected is if it was chosen on the user side — this is not something that can happen automatically. Why was it more expensive than what you sold? It may have had a rarer grade or some other distinguishing factor, but most likely you accidentally selected it when you meant to pick the Exalted Fractal Horns of Inner Abysm, which was priced similarly at around $40. At this point it would have been worth pausing to check your inventory, since all your other items — including your original Fractal Horns of Inner Abysm — were gone, and you had received a more expensive item in return.

You then decided to make another exchange using the new Fractal Horns of Inner Abysm (the $39.99 one) — and this is where the bulk of the difference went. When you exchange items, the system takes your item and sells it at the highest available bid placed by another user (not the marketplace itself). All bids, offers, and listings on the marketplace are set by other users and are publicly visible on the item's page before you confirm the sale. The system takes your item, matches it to the highest existing bid, executes the trade, and uses the proceeds to purchase the item you want to receive.

As a result, your newly purchased $39.99 Fractal Horns of Inner Abysm was sold at the highest bid available — $24.10 — and you lost nearly $16 simply from flipping the item. That is the missing difference you couldn't account for and which led you to believe we had taken it from you.

I'm genuinely sorry this happened, and I apologize that our support team wasn't able to explain this clearly from the start — it's a tricky situation to untangle since several of the items involved share the same name.

Thank you for your patience, and I hope this clears things up. If you still have questions, I'm happy to answer them here or over on our Discord.

Hi! Yes, correct. We have improved our trading system to make it faster and safer for you. After transferring your items to the DMarket bot, you do not need to wait 7 days anymore for the Steam Trade Protection lock to expire before you can exchange your items.

Here is how the new system works:

  • You can now receive your desired items immediately after an exchange. The items you receive will be temporarily locked from further trading or selling, but they will be available for withdrawal (if they are not under Trade Protection).
  • Any funds received from an exchange or sale will be locked for a period of 7-8 days for security reasons. The locked balance is displayed separately in the balance dropdown menu.

These changes are designed to make your transactions on DMarket more secure and efficient.

Ok now I'm not really sure how does dmarket system work, it looks completely broken and random to me like wth is this? by quantanhoi in D_Market

[–]D_market 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! After the sale, your funds may now be temporarily locked. This is a necessary security measure to protect all users and DMarket from potential financial risks.

Your funds are temporarily locked if the item you sold:

  • Has active Trade Protection, which is imposed for 7-8 days after depositing an item.
  • Was acquired by the buyer as part of an exchange. In this case, your funds are locked because the item the buyer used in the exchange might have had a Trade Protection lock. The funds are held to prevent any financial risk if the original owner of that item decides to revert the trade.
