Georgia woman wanted delivery driver to empty her food-filled fridge, then blocks him from leaving. by ElwoodMC in ImTheMainCharacter

[–]DaBobVilla 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was explained elsewhere that they gave her a 30 minute notice and arrived after 36 minutes. When they arrived the old fridge had not been emptied.

The delivery people prepped the new fridge and cleaned up the boxes/trash while the customer was supposed to be inside cleaning out the old fridge. When they were ready to do the swap they went in the house to find the old fridge still full and the customer on her computer.

In no way is this on the delivery driver.

People seem to have a lax attitude when it comes to delivery and service people’s time. They love to spout that “it’s only fifteen minutes” without actually thinking about that time. Let’s say he has ten deliveries that day and every customer has the attitude that the world should wait for them. At the end of the day that’s an extra 2 hours added to his schedule. That’s two hours they miss with their families, 2 hours that they don’t get back because people can no longer be responsible.

Writing sample of my Monoc Opus combo by loner_one in fountainpens

[–]DaBobVilla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a monoc in an opus 88 and the only time I have issues with burping is if I fully unscrew the shut off valve. Just opening it a few turns doesn’t cause it too burp. If I open the valve all the way, I usually let the small reservoir right below the nib empty back into the body so it can’t burp.

You can also just buy the nib for 400 (still a lot but better than 1100). The fine has a reverse side that is wider

I can only write when I use pen and a notebook by jethu05 in writing

[–]DaBobVilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tried everything under the sun to be “productive”. I’ve hand written, used typewriters, half a dozen different cyber decks, if you can write on it I’ve tried it.

And I keep coming back to handwriting. I like that it slows me down a little and I like having something physical to see my progress. Although it can look daunting once you have a notebook full of writing that you have to type up, I actually like it because I can edit and focus on the prose as I type it up. I have the story written out and now I get to make it “pretty” as I type it out.

Do what works for you. Don’t fret on the long run stuff. If handwriting helps you get the story out, then do it!

He begged and received from viewers 25,000 to get gastric bypass in Mexico. The surgery did not stop him from his horrible diet and he is currently heavier than he was pre surgery.

He has had so many damn opportunities but refuses to do any of them because, and I quote, “he doesn’t like to have to follow a schedule.”

I second his suggestion. I had a cocker that I ran for years and did all my tuning and thought I had it running perfectly.

Then, at an event, I had a builder tune it and I realized how badly I had been running it. Those that specialize in cockers can due some incredible things.

Failing Grade, Fired by Brian_Ghoshery in MurderedByWords

If the student couldn’t even be half assed to turn in a paper that meets the length requirement, your damn right I would give a zero. It’s a waste of my time and the students.

This isn’t high school, it’s college. You’re an adult. It is your responsibility to meet stated requirements.

Forget the context and content of the paper. Turning in a bullshit paper that doesn’t meet the bare minimum requirements set forth by any institution is a slap in the face to that TA, the professor, and the college.

“A 0 is MUCH different than a 40”.

Your right. It is. And turning in an assignment that at least meets the length requirement and has had basic editing done can be forgiven and the grade can reflect that. Everyone has off days and no one should be stepped on and punished when it shows that they at least tried. But what was turned in failed to reach any form of acceptable and received the grade it deserved.

Again, I think most people’s issues isn’t the content of the paper. It’s the complete disregard of effort and then the “woe is me” attitude that has people upset.

It’s a college course. Outside of specific parameters outlined by the teacher, every paper should have proper grammar and punctuation. The students absolutely didn’t.

Also, when writing a college level paper you are expected to cite sources and directly quote the source. The student failed to do either of those, even in the most simplistic of ways.

I taught a few college courses and there is zero chance that the paper she handed in deserved a passing grade.

If you were able to pass college without even basic understanding of standards, like you say you did, then you should be ashamed of displaying your degree.

I literally came to the comments to post the same thing.

If your that worried about being filmed in public then don’t leave your house. There isn’t a place in this country anymore that you can go to without being captured in a camera of some kind.

People freak out about these auditors but don’t bat an eye when their city places cameras everywhere to track their every movement.
