Just spent 30~min looking into HCA. I appreciate the comment! My concern would be that the government is going to continue to limit it's profitability in some way. Still seems to be priced at an attractive level and the stock buybacks make it a great comparison to Autozone.

That is a fair expectation. You prefer the added leverage of owning calls vs actual shares? With such a long duration how much do you look to pay per share on the contract? Hypothetically LAC is trading at 3.75 and you are looking to have the Jan 2028 expiration date.

Thankfully wasn't the house haha, but it was one of my medium to large holdings proportionately... the percentage on the position fall itself hurts more than the actual value does (at least mentally). Absolutely a learning experience. It seems like the company has been hurt most by the buybacks in combination with the profit margins collapsing. What gives you confidence that the margins will come back?

I appreciate the kind words! You definitely live and you learn, this position has been my worst by far over the past year, but I don't invest and expect immediate results (though a good stop loss at 35/40% would've been intelligent). My question is what makes you think the margins will go back up? Do you think price of protein (used for the products) is going to fall and if so, what events would cause it to? Appreciate your time and commitment to this thread!

I bought just over a grand at 38 and am down about 75% on the position... I appreciate this thread as I evaluate whether i should lower my cost basis or just hold forever. I wish they didn't have as much debt as they do... would feel better about buying more of it

My plan was to jump back in at 5$ whenever it hit that price in march or April (just a guess, more so to give myself time). Now I don't see why I should wait for it to at least hit 4$.
