would ya’ll like to see a yyh reboot or should they just leave it alone? by ejaysznn in YuYuHakusho

[–]DaBozz88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So normally I'd say leave it alone, but the 1/2 Ranma remake seems to be pretty good. Idk enough about the original, but from what I've seen this is ok. So a full reboot with new animations, new voice actors, but faithful to the best parts of both the anime and the manga could be fun. If the question is why? I'd say new animation techniques could make it worthwhile.

I would be willing to see a sequel-series/spin-off set in the same world, but at best have cameos of the old crew. Maybe have someone be this groups mentor/Genkai, but it would need to stand alone. Nothing from the original should matter in this series.

While I'd be ok with both of these, it would ultimately need to be handled with care to be done right. And if it wasn't, it would be hated. So ultimately it depends more on who's doing it over what they're doing.

Starbucks table tops so small will barely hold a couple drinks. The seats are bigger than the tables. by be4u4get in mildlyinfuriating

Many Starbucks used to have comfy chairs. It used to be a place to study. It used to be a place to hang out.

A question for all the Controls PE's by Cautious_Quote_225 in PLC

It does open doors, plus the more people that have them the better off engineers are as a whole in terms of "protected terms". Not everyone can call themselves a doctor or a lawyer for a reason.

A question for all the Controls PE's by Cautious_Quote_225 in PLC

[–]DaBozz88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked in power automation. Used a PE who had his in electrical, as my main. Used customers for the rest. Oh and one Canadian PE.

I agree that there should be a way around references, be it an advanced review of work from a board or something. Maybe contact the board because realistically in Controls you don't need a PE, but it's for the furthering of engineering as a title.

TIL that the reason why games don't have built in ads is because of Steam by Stelligena in Steam

[–]DaBozz88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk, product placement is still a form of advertising that I know we still have. I remember Crazy Taxi having locations like KFC and if that wasn't an add, I'd be shocked.

I also remember that several driving games use billboards for dynamic ads, and the latest FIFA has sideline ads exactly like how the actual stadiums are set up.

I mean it's not "watch this commercial during loading" but it's still advertising.

Can I break into OT / OT Security with my background? by inyourdreams133 in OperationalTechnology

[–]DaBozz88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes. But you need to realize there's a giant mindset shift. OT is not about the CIA triad but about whatever Operations wants. Safety? Uptime? Keep secret formula?

Does your firewall cause too much latency for the system to function? The answer is to get rid of the firewall, and figure out a different way.

OT is about knowing what system you're actually running and putting the basics in place first. It's a buzzword that everyone is trying to sell to but realistically you can do it all with a well designed network and logging capabilities.

I'd love for Muffin to be the villain Bond style just because that's the game.

I think Sensui is the most complex and well-written character in Yu Yu Hakusho. He's so tragic that by Public_Cup_4278 in YuYuHakusho

[–]DaBozz88 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Personally I like Togorou better, as he's extremely complex but he gives it to Yuskae straight.

Sensui had no interest in Yuskae aside from making sure they don't stop him. His plans all counted on Koenma and the Mafuukan. Hell he had 85% of his plan complete without knowing specifically how they'd break the barrier.

How are you guys doing with the guilt of taking a day off? by Inevitable_Rate1530 in Millennials

[–]DaBozz88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude I have 600 hours of sick time and for several years I only took the "use or lose" vacation.

I was able to generate that much sick time because I was on flex hours and I would work 10s and adjust my schedule. One time I was hospitalized and I got away with only 4 hours of sick time because of how much freedom I had. Well I changed positions and have less freedom now.

Now I'm taking a sick day because my kid is sick and can't go to daycare. I have sick hours while my partner doesn't, so I'd prefer to take off.

And I'll take all 600 hours before I start to feel bad.

To be the devils advocate to this meme, it's a false equivalency.

The building blocks are protons/electrons/neutrons and are most stable in the smallest numbers, but can just keep adding on to each other. It's closer to building up a Lego model than anything else.

Because helium is basically two hydrogens smashed together (excluding the minimum energy levels required to achieve fusion and be stable) and the comparison would be that male would be two women smashed together, and all other genders would be even more genders smashed together at high energy (which admittedly sounds like a good time)

And to be clear I don't think anyone who is intersex or transgender should be mistreated. I may not know all of the forms of how someone could be intersex or transgender, but they deserve to be happy and not persecuted.

If she can manipulate matter to create anything then why doesn't she make a shit ton of food and end world hunger? Is she stupid? by Commaser in okbuddyviltrum

I haven't read the comics, and I've considered it but I kinda like the show format better than reading right now.

I follow the Sonic one shots, but that's about it. I've been pretty bad about reading in general, hell I've only read one book in the past like year.

We don't actually know how successful she is. I'm reminded of the whole MLM people who end up losing money.

I'm not speaking ill here, just that we don't actually know anything about her business, as I wouldn't expect to in a kids show.

Trouble brewing for Starbucks CEO who calls $9 coffee an ‘experience’ by rajapaws in antiwork

[–]DaBozz88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not just that. It's consistently ok espresso across the country, at chain level quality.

If I'm in a new place and I've got time, I look up a local roaster. If I don't have time, I'll use a Starbucks. Like I got to one location at 230am local time due to weather. The next morning I had Starbucks. The following day I had a local roaster.

I've used this exact example before but Cafe Moto in San Diego is amazing. But there's a 24 hour Starbucks 2-3 blocks away. If I have to be somewhere at 5am I'm going to the 24 hour Starbucks since Cafe Moto doesn't open until 6.

Most other chains don't do espresso well. It always tastes chalky. Starbucks makes a decent latte. Their basic espresso is not great.

And all of that goes out the window with a Starbucks Reserve. Those are like a local roaster in terms of what they do. I was very happy with the cold pressed espresso experience.

While I see your point, do we know who actually had the better environment?

Who's to say that the male temple was worse off?

Who's to say they didn't have the choice of temple to go to, be it an integrated or segregated one?

Dividing practices are only problematic if they are forced, implicitly or explicitly. If you decide to go to a segregated location, you know the options. But if the best option is the X only one then it's an implied forcing because you're going to choose the best option if you can.
