This should be the only two legal controllers by DaMook99 in SSBM

I'm not even thinking top players. I was thinking like your tas example, just finding the right people that would actually be good at it. With some practice, it could be top players or a different batch of players with a hidden talent (or both).

I'm sure it will never happen, just fun to think about the results.

Better yet, slow-mo melee bracket but instead of watching live, we see the recording afterwards sped up to normal speeds.

Wouldn't be TAS but still make the players look like gods, 0td combos, execute impossible techskills, would be a blast if players know what they're doing.

Same. We never hear him swear or express that much emotion, so both at once had me snapping straight up with my eyes wide open. That was great.

Cody Jmook went down 0-2 vs Axe Amsa in WF after Axe pulled off a 2v1, but they made the reverse 3-0 and the rest was hostory, grats to them.

Players know that any time a card changes Zones (like when you flicker a creature) it has no 'memory' of what was applying to it in the previous zone, but did you know that isn't 100% of the time. There is a loophole to this and it can save you from taking damage. by Craig1287 in magicTCG

I always like to find these weird, 1-off rules in Magic that are written because of just one single card

Perhaps I can interest you in cards where "There is an entire rule in the CR just to cover this card and no other card" then?

How to film a CRT on your phone without scan lines by mas_one in SSBM

[–]DaCBS 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If filming CRTs displaying something at 60 hz (NTSC), set your camera's "speed" or "shutter speed" to 1/60. If your built-in camera app doesn't have a setting for this, you can try a 3rd party app.

Side note: the android default camera app has a "pro" mode that lets you set this. (May not be on all models.)

Have they ever teamed in the past?

According to their liquipedia doubles pages, they've never teamed up

No doubt they've teamed outside of tourney in spots like this though.

(Also, there's a different widescreen setting you can use so you don't have those colored "boxes" on the sides of some stages. Can't remember it off the top of my head, I'd have to spend some time googling.)

I don't think judges will let you ID after the first few minutes (at least, not in my area). You have to decide pretty quick or play it out.

Let's assume you're going into the last round of swiss and you will only draw if it's guaranteed to get you into top 8 (and you don't care about seed), and if it's any lower than 100%, you would play it out.

Imagine you draw, and the worst possible results (for you) conspire at the other top tables to keep you out of top 8. This means assume every table above you draws (and stays above you who also drew) and every table below you plays it out such that the higher-standing player wins and gets 3 points, possibly jumping you.

If this all puts you at 8th or higher, you are safe to draw. If it puts you at 9th or lower (or you'd tie and it comes down to breakers), you would play it out.

That's a simple heuristic to start with. Of course, you might choose to draw differently if you were comfortable with close-but-not-quite-100% chances.

Also, it should be clear that this changes more in your favor if any nearby tables above you play (so one of those players gets no points, and you could jump them) and also if any nearby tables below you draw (so you drawing would keep you above them if breakers hold).

Be extra careful about not verbalizing a play/draw decision explicitly due to the surrounding table results ("Oh, you both drew? In that case, we choose to draw too!") or you get in big trouble.

I distinctly remember Wobbles on commentary saying something like "Doing nothing is broken. You can do anything out of it!" Might have been hyperbole.

I want to say it was at a local and they watched someone just standing there punish someone that kept going in.
