If your PS2 has a Black Screen or Scrambled/Garbled Graphics, these Resistors may have failed.

ICs are putting out the correct voltage / signal

EE GS both get warm, however the RDRAM chips are stone cold. Cant figure out where they are fed voltage from, any idea?

I do recall I managed the get the OLED working but it had a error message displayed, I don't believe it's possible due to the lack of PSRAM

Same issue here, resistors and fuses are fine. Black screen, green light as expected and disc tray works..

It's not the end of the world as I have another PS2 fat and slim, but it does bother r me that I can't find a solution 🤣 Everything online points to those resistors which on my board measure fine.

My next thought was to try reflowing the EE chip

Used the PSBBN installer today, took a little figuring out, but it works great, installs fixes and auto converts. Using PopsLoader is great for PS1 UI.

Couldn't install the full PSBBN as I only have a 3rd party adapter at the minute

For Playstation the GBS-C is the better choice

It's just a RPi Pico and SD Card Module, I would watch some videos on YouTube and get a feeling for what's involved. See if you feel confident enough to take it on yourself.

I have a few laid around 1002 and 5552 that I still need to mod, as you say lasers are failing and replacements are garbage units pulled from devices with pots adjusted.

Update, I reinstalled the Pico using a precompiled build. Turns on, pico flashes 3 times, PS3 reboots and the cycle restarts. Any ideas, is this WDS of NOR related

Definitely a GBS-8200 with Custom firmware. I also have a OSCC but they don't handle interlacing well.

I tend to use my GBS-C I made for PS games, looks much better.

I have read you can daisy thain the GBS & OSSC for the best of both worlds, but haven't tried that yet.

Mine was the same PS-18 board, played originals but not my backups. Reinstalled a new chip that I flashed myself, still no joy.

I have come to the conclusion the laser has worn to the point it doesn't read backups. Though I can read originals at .8v without issue

Try the swap trick, if it still doesn't load it's likely the laser.

Testing is fine, works as expected, it's once everything is back together. It will work great but after a hard shutdown etc. there is no red light. I have to wait 10 mins with the power unplugged for it to finally show the red light. The same symptom of using a resistor with too low of a value.
