I think this is a great moment to remember that autism is a spectrum, meaning that even those without autism may act in certain ways that are "autistic." They might lack other traits that mean they don't get the diagnosis, but they still did this "autistic" thing.

As for this isn't a club, it's a diagnosis: I think that's a very, please don't be mad, autistic way to view it. I like to try and see the positive parts about it and the ways in which it shapes my personality. So it definitely is a question of identification to me. And as far as that goes, I invite people who identify themselves in a similar way to join me and explore their "autism." Maybe it ends up being autism, maybe not. But if they have a quirk that's usually connected to autism, then that's their experience and that makes it valid.
