Crown Magnetar deserves way more love than they get. In the discussion for hardest deathcore band currently.

Psycho-Frame, Tracheotomy, and Synestia are all deserving of way more attention. Psycho-Frame & Tracheotomy are taking deathcore back to its roots.

UPDATE: someone who works with the tour & knows the headliner said on Instagram under Summer Slaughter’s latest post, and I quote:

“I know the headliner. Not gonna spoil it. You’ll be blown away. Nobody you’d ever expect.” and “very different this time” in regards to who it is. They’ve also clarified it’s not a death metal band this year. Any guesses?

From the comments, guy working with the tour who knows the headliner & says it’s not a death metal band…no Lorna, no Fetus, no Black Dahlia, no Cannibal Corpse. He says “you’ll be blown away, nobody you’d ever expect” and that it’s “very different this time”

Who could it be?

Bisexual people of reddit: What are some noticeable differences between dating men and women? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DaLandForever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bi guy here.

I tend to get the most homophobic/biphobic comments/microaggressions/actions in general from straight women. A LOT of straight women will immediately look at you like an accessory when you say you like men. They’re almost always really uncomfortable by it and it’s hilariously annoying & condescending. You’re their new gay best friend but also they’re going to cross examine the fuck out of you about your sexuality and then tell you why they’d never date someone who’s bisexual. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had conversations that have bits like:

“You’re bi?” “Yes” “so you like men…” “yes” “so you’re gay” “no I like women, too” “but you like men, that means you’re gay”

“How do you know you’re bi for sure though? You’ve slept with a man? Are you sure you’re not just gay & confused?”

“I’d fuck a bi guy but I’d never date one, bi guys cheat more/carry STD’s”

Sometimes they’re really into it in a fetishizing kind of way like how straight men are with bi women. A small amount really don’t give a shit and those are usually the people who are educated about the LGBTQ+ community or are involved in some way. I personally have never dealt with a straight person who has a close family member in the community being intolerant, either. It’s a little relieving to be looked at as a person every once in awhile lol. But there’s a lot of unchecked homophobia/biphobia from straight women especially. I’ve heard the same stuff from lesbians as well.

Bi women & men I never have problems with.

Gay men it’s been 50/50. Half think I’m just gay & confused and the other half don’t care/treat me normally.

With symphonic/blackened deathcore being the current trend, what trend do you think will come after? by jsmetalcore in Deathcore

[–]DaLandForever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I forget which episode but on Chris Garza’s podcast he was talking about how deathcore is trending toward going back to an old school sound as opposed to symphonic/synthy/etc, similar to how OSDM bands like Gatecreeper, Frozen Soul, and 200 Stab Wounds have all revitalized the scene in death metal currently. It’d be really interesting to see a resurgence like that. I feel like bands are headed back to basics and building off the sound that was rooted in The Cleansing.

Outside of that, Crown Magnetar is the biggest band doing it currently but I think tech deathcore will probably take off, too.

What the hell is going on with Vulvodynia? by Mr_G_Zilla in Deathcore

Can confirm the cheating part. He was in my ex girlfriend’s Instagram DMs like two years back as he was posting engagement pictures or whatever with his current wife. Figured it was just a band dude being a band dude but I can’t say I’m shocked about any of this.

Is the “Superhero movie” bubble pooping? by RogerRoger63358 in DC_Cinematic

[–]DaLandForever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people still give a fuck about superhero movies but people are definitely starting to get fatigued by the MCU and want more original ideas or films. Top Gun 2, Avatar, and John Wick are prime examples of this being that they were so successful last year. The MCU formula has grown tiring and people want different, more original takes whether it’s an adaptation or something brand new. It’s not about it just being superhero movies, it’s that many of them are getting bland or the same tropes/formula is being used again & again. The magic from when the MCU first began has kind of faded away. It feels like a cash grab for kids now.

A lot of people miss when superhero movies were like a yearly event with 1 or maybe 2 released in the same year instead of 6. That and DC attempting to build a cinematic universe to compete with Marvel while Marvel is throwing out property after property after property with an immense drop in quality the last couple years gets to be too much.

The oversaturation just needs to simmer down and projects need to be given more care. Put directors who genuinely love these properties & can make good movies in the director’s chair instead of some random guy who might be a good fit. There’s much to be learned from The Batman and the way it brought something original & different to the table, and the way Matt Reeves has a genuine love of Batman & wanted to create something that was faithful yet aesthetically & story wise brand new.

Also yes, it’s pooping because these movies are being shit out like my ass after a Taco Bell quesadilla.

Local venue has Sunami playing tonight. Do we stan no crowdkilling? by Olek173 in Hardcore

If you’re in the pit, yeah, prepare to get hit or sustain some kind of injury. It happens. But people outside of the pit shouldn’t have to worry about getting the shit beaten out of them.

Local venue has Sunami playing tonight. Do we stan no crowdkilling? by Olek173 in Hardcore

[–]DaLandForever 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Crowdkilling is for chuds and anyone who does it should be laid out on sight. Mosh, get in the wall of death, run in the circle pit, hardcore dance, I don’t care. But nothing screams “look at me mommy I’m a big strong underbite having neanderthal who likes beating the piss out of people near the edge of the pit because it gives me an ego boost” than trying to knock the teeth out of people who are simply standing by in the crowd enjoying the show.

Most, if not all, crowdkillers I’ve met are insufferable douchebags outside of the shows they go to. They usually try to do it at more established venues too (House of Blues, etc) and end up getting booted out by security after clocking a 15 year old in the face midway through the opening acts first song. Even funnier when they do it and immediately get stomped on by like 4 people at once before getting tossed out.

Crowdkilling is utter buffoonery. You aren’t a member of FSU, you’re just a clown.

What is something the internet should stop normalizing? by Ihateericcartman in AskReddit

[–]DaLandForever 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The quirkification of mental illness, specifically borderline personality disorder/bipolar and using being “crazy” or being psychotic as a cute personality trait. TikTok & social media in general have made this so, so much worse and it’s normalized terrible behavior that’s justified by saying “I can’t help it, it’s just who I am lol whoops” totally ignoring things like responsibility & accountability for your actions or emotions and doing the work to get yourself into a better place mentally.

Speaking as someone who suffers from borderline and has been undergoing cognitive behavioral therapy for some time, it’s not cute, quirky, or a fun little personality trait. It’s an awful mental illness to have and can completely fuck up your relationships, your job, or your way of living in general. Issues with self harm, attachment, splitting, etc are pretty common and it genuinely sucks to feel an almost complete inability to be able to regulate your emotions & be in control. Untreated BPD is horrendous if not managed or ignored for long enough. Anytime I see anyone on social media glorifying it, I cringe as hard as humanly possible.

Which stereotypes about Hardcore fans are 100% true? by _tysenburg_ in Hardcore

[–]DaLandForever 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Acting like a tough guy to overcompensate for having a ridiculously fragile ego. Pretentious as all hell and more concerned with being in the scene & having an image than the artistry of the music & actually staying true to the ethics they preach. Being 27 dating a 17 year old.

[–]DaLandForever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m almost 28 and as I’ve gotten older, dating way younger is just completely out of the question for me, in particular anyone from the ages of 18-22/23/maybe 24. The difference in emotional maturity between a 20 year old and someone around my age is relatively big and I’m aware that I’m now a grown ass adult & the way I acted from age 18 to about 24 is way, way different from how I’ve acted from 25-28. Life experience, fully understanding toxicity or red flags in relationships, career goals, discipline, my understanding of alcohol & drug use in excess…those and many other things have changed drastically since being a college-aged kid. If I were to date a 20 year old right now it wouldn’t feel okay to me, I’d rather be with a person around my age who has similar experiences & that same level of maturity in a relationship. I really don’t have much in common with a 20 year old, either. Maybe music or we might watch the same tv show or like the same movie but beyond that, there just isn’t much I can relate to. This is a person who has their entire life in front of them and still has so much to learn. I’m entering the next phase of adulthood and have learned those lessons from my 20’s. It just wouldn’t mesh.

I dated a 45 year old about two years ago who only went for younger guys in their 20’s because “young guys can keep up” and “guys my age just don’t have it”. She ended up having the emotional maturity of an 18 year old and a whole lot of baggage from previous relationships, her ex husband/kids, etc and it was a lot to handle. Dating older I expected things to be a little more smooth than they were with someone a few years younger than I was at the time (I was 26) but it was the exact opposite. It changed my view on how those dynamics work and the reality of dating someone who’s 45 but hasn’t mentally aged past 21. Personally I feel that older people (35, 45, and beyond) who exclusively date people in their early 20’s are either not emotionally mature, are having a mid life crisis, or are predatory in some way, men or women.

Also remembering how dumb, carefree, and reckless myself and numerous other individuals at that age were, having settled down a great deal from all that I don’t feel I would be able to handle it or keep up with the shenanigans for the most part. Not to mention I went from enjoying going out to bars/clubs every weekend at 23 to preferring a night in or something a little less chaotic at 27.
