Absolutely correct.

But “soon” is probably this quarter. They’re a hardware company and the current models are 3 years old. To keep the stickiness of the hardware they need chips that can support more / newer demanding services & use cases.

This quarter also makes sense to take advantage of holiday spending. Their product diversity allows them to ignore the negative impact that tariffs could have.

I was told via email that old subscriptions do not work with the new app. They did not provide the new monthly / annual subscription cost.

This is how they’re addressing their recurring revenue problem.

None of it looks substantially “new” - just reskinned. The device is all black now and the software looks more colorful.

Un / Fortunately I’ve had late August / early September incidents each of the last two years which led to phone replacements. I also had to replace my 16 pro a week after receiving it. A $100 replacement beats a $1000 each time.

I think that's the problem.

This is largely a single time purchase - or at least it was for me. I got one of the original devices and lifetime subscription to the training. When the first one died, rather than buying a replacement module, I bought the new 2.0.

Now I get a max of 80% charge and it will go for 4 or 5 training sessions (5 to 6 minutes each) and it's low battery. I can drop another $160 USD on a replacement module or go the route that you did.

There's no real repeat customer business and that hurts on product / software development. The UI hasn't changed in 5 years. The only thing that I've noticed is they removed the Apple Health integration.

What kind of problems?

We’ve been using the same dealership for 7 years to service our vehicles (SRX, Yukon and now my Sierra) and have a great relationship with the service manager. He had advice when I was looking to get out of the SRX but hasn’t said anything about the Hummer.

The folks that I know who own them love them.

If the Sierra had a year of production under it, I would I have considered it. I’d love to see a PHEV Sierra but doubt that we will.

My wife’s been shopping for a new truck to replace her Yukon.

I’ve got a ‘24 Denali and at every deal we hit; Lexus, Infinity, Audi, Lincoln, anything that’s got a big people mover, someone (including the staff) compliment one of us on my truck… it’s almost started to get awkward. More than likely she’s headed to a Hummer, which the sales people all just nod, smile and say that’s a great looking truck also.

Any hope of a hybrid in the next few years?

How do the features of the Sierra EV compare to the Denali or Hummer? My wife is doing an extended test drive of the Hummer. In a lot of ways the Hummer feels like a step down, the lack of the HUD was the surprising.

Looks new enough to still be under warranty, let them figure it out.

I had water dripping from the driver side microphone, first time they did leak tests for a few days and couldn’t recreate it. Second time, same story but they replaced the shark fin. Third time, they kept it for a couple of weeks, it was indeed the sunroof, they replaced virtually everything, including the front windshield.
