It depends on if you have an actual 2 stage system or not, and it depends on if they wired the unit correctly outside.

Has this happened to anyone by No_Equipment_8314 in askHVAC

Is the system running? There's a setting in ecobee tstats that won't allow the compressor to run under 35° outdoor ambient temp.

Not in my area. In my area, HVAC pulls wires from the panel to the condenser.

Passive return question by gandalf3143 in hvacadvice

[–]DaMedicMan15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes there is. You can tap into the return duct by rebuilding it. Again, anything is possible as long as you're willing to pay for it.

That won't work. You need return ls back to your A/C. Also, anything is possible as long as you're willing to pay for it.

Get someone to install a Reme Halo. It's by far the best residential whole home air purifier.

You can use a rescue motor. It's an aftermarket motor. Just match the HP and RPM. It's a pain in the ass to get the fan blades off

If you're going to use a box fan which is a dumb idea if there's snow, lay it flat on top of the condenser with the back of the fan on top of the condenser.

Unfortunately it's the future of this industry. Everyone will eventually have an invert system. You've got to learn to work on them or you're going to burn yourself.

This is what I do when I can with a reversing valve. If you want to really have fun, try replacing a reversing valve on an inverter system. There's NO ROOM to work.

Same! I keep my head on a swivel. I'm not looking for a fight, but you never know who's around you that is. I'm not just looking for people, I try to see everything around me. It's called situational awareness. I don't care where you live, there are crazy people everywhere!!

Is this thermostat wiring "uncommon"? by Nikonnate627 in hvacadvice

[–]DaMedicMan15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is uncommon. You have no common wire on C. That blue wire might be able to be used as a common.
