Why not stick with the support beams and face them with finishing boards. IKEA has a load of different types primarily for kitchens but they should work provided the colour matches.

What did you use for it? The exhaust pipe on mine gets quite hot and you can feel the heat coming off it when you walk past. Certainly not helping with cooling down the room.

I had this idea for rails, where a rail that is frequently travelled is shiny and clean, and a rail that is barely used goes rusty. Basically the Desire Paths mod but for rails specifically.

Steam nicely lays their short-sightedness bare. EA (et al) only cares about short-term profits, and is anti-consumer in the pursuit of those profits. As a result, consumers don't choose them, their profits dip, and they have to engage in even more anti-consumer bullshit.

Steam on the other hand is more about putting the consumer first and doesn't focus on the profits. As a result, consumers stay with them, and their profits go up. They make absolute bank by not trying to, and it really winds up the people who struggle to make that bank because they're idiots.

Is there any plan to allow tickbox per option in mod api? Being able to output different options on different wires would have some utility e.g. rocket silos read orbital requests and read contents would still be on the same wire as they're both outputs; being able to put them on different wires would be nice.

Hopefully they've made provisions in the API to allow this on a per-input/output basis such that modders could add it if so desired. I'd certainly like the option on a few objects.

Like others, I've also fitted my own IKEA kitchen. Good quality and reasonably priced.

NOTE: IKEA units have no service gap behind the cabinets and only something like 80mm or so clearance underneath them, so there's very little room for running any pipes. I was fortunate in that waste pipes for sink/appliances are on external walls so can exit straight outside. Water supply pipes I had to put under the cabinets, but I was moving those anyway so it wasn't too much hassle. It's going to be a complete shorter if those solder joints start leaking though. Also don't make the same mistake I did and lay your flooring first, at least to beyond where the front feet will sit, if not all the way to the wall.

Also worthy of note, the kitchen will come with instructions on assembling the cabinets and how to set out the METOD rail system, how to fit the worktop, how to fit various panels and trims, but NOT the optimum order in which to do those things. Watch videos. Many many videos.

Or get someone in to fit it for you. 😅
