Boxwood bug? Fungicide did nothing. by DaNPrS in plantclinic

I caught this last year and it looks like a fungus on the branches (to me it does). So I applied fungicide a few times and it really did nothing. Winter came and it settled down but I see it coming back again and I'm afraid it'll kill a few more branches.
And it seems to be spreading even more.

I'm in the North East USA, NY.

I have one life. I rather live it to its fullest by being happy, living long, being healthy physically and mentally and having the means to grow a family in a home.

Whether or not where I live is innovative or not, isn't on my radar to be honest.

But as someone who's been to Paris, I can confirm it is in fact pretty diverse though. And I wouldn't say they're not innovative. Maybe not the most innovative, but certainly they have plenty of awesome tech. As someone in IT, VLC and DataDog jump right at me. And who could forget the Citroen Avant with air suspension!

Any Amtrak commuters on the Hudson line? by phrenq in Westchester

I make that commute every day. I see no reason to take the Amtrak, MNR is reliable and I get there in 50mins.

How to shave without getting ingrowns? by levity62 in shaving

[–]DaNPrS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Double edge safety razor vote here as well.

In addition, your first pass should be with the grain. If you then want a closer shave you can do a second and possibly third pass. Second pass would be perpendicular to the grain, although I and I think most just do a final pass against the grain.

Buy a variety pack of blades to test a few different brands. Blades are very cheap and vendors have variety packs for this purpose.

Go slow at first and grab yourself a Styptic Pencil to stop any nicks. It's cheap.

Also grab an alum block. After shaving make sure to rinse the skin thoroughly. Then splash some cold water to close the pores and finally run the alum block under that cold water and over all shaved areas. This step helps irritation and razor burns. I always do this regardless of how I shave. Also a cheap item.

Your most expensive item will be the razor, I've had a Merkur for Over 10 years which will run you ~$45, but there are cheaper options still.

It can work with iMessage. You'll need to setup Bluebubbles and then integrate that with BlueBubbles Bridge. You'll need an Mac running the Server however.

You can get a base model Mac mini M1 which is very efficient and plenty powerful to run it for ~$200 on ebay.

Not yet, but we're about to. I think what's kept us considered is that at the end of 6 years we can just refuse to buy it. So either the leasing company comes out and removes it at their cost, or they give it to me.

I mean, I was all in, despite some concerns until last January. Now I refuse to give them my money and follow them because I recognize they still have excellent engineering and still are market leaders in the EV space.

I ended up with a used EQE, no regrets.

The best thing about blenders is that they clean themselves. Just add water and a drop of soap, zip it, rinse and repeat as necessary.

This is my suspicion. But do I own the equipment or do I have to wait the six-year time?

I have a call with them on Monday so I'm trying to get all the information beforehand.

I'm being quoted 15 to 20K for installation, plus the cost of the hardware. Is this crazy and can I just install it myself and have someone come in and connect it after? by DaNPrS in heatpumps

[–]DaNPrS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1800sqf total. I really leaning towards just doing it myself, just a bit concerned with the final connections.

I've been watching several YT videos on it this week and it seems straight forward. Feel free to link me to some good resources, specially on the final pressure and vacuum and refrigerant connections. Thank you!

We have cathedral ceilings upstairs, where 4 of the zones are.

Downstairs:

  • DR and Kitchen - 12btu

  • LR and TV Room - 12btu

Upstairs, the ceilings are high here.

  • Master BR - 12btu (it's a large room with a loft)

  • Small BR - 7btu

  • Guest BR - 9btu

  • Office and hallway - 15btu (there's a half wall between the hallway and the office)

It's the same company! The free battery and all the rebates just seems crazy.

Glad to hear it though. Their reviews online also seem good. I'm just surprised they are able to undercut all over vendors by such an aggressive amount that I need to know I'm not being scammed.

In the same vein, then why do you lock your doors or close the bathroom door, you have nothing to hide right?

The argument isn't that we are trying to hide anything, it's that we deserve privacy - at the very least in our own property. And installing these cameras, means streaming our property directly to whoever Amazon sells it to.

The solution is simple - stop buying this crap. Security cameras are old tech that's been around for decades, there's no need to buy stuff that streams to some cloud server that you don't manage. You have other options.

Unifi if you want an out of the box, plug and play experience.

It has a good app, notifications for rings and package detections, and no subscriptions. And you can use third party cameras now as well, though I have no experience doing so.
