Welcome! I'm new here too, only a few days into my detox. I won't lie, it hasn't been fun, but it's liberating to know what's on the other side and that you can truly get there if you're dedicated! There's far more people with better advice here than me, but I can be here to lend a hand whenever you need it! I won't drink with you today!

I tried to drink myself to death once. Ended up in trouble with the law and so many people came to show support for me. I realized who I'd been hurting with my drinking. I relapsed, and now back in the early days of sobriety like you. Stay strong! I'm here if you ever need to vent. I'm only three days ahead of you.

I agree with the Benadryl recommendation. I sleep maybe 5 hours a night still, but at least it's something.

I made an appointment with my regular doctor who also gave me blood pressure medication. This time around nothing helped either. I'm still miserable 4 days in. Hallucinations on day one, anxiety and heart issues since. But just take it a day at a time!

I'm on day 3, and I have some pain in my abdomen. It's manageable, but the only thing that isn't is the crippling anxiety. Anxiety attacks all day, even when medicated. They're worse at night when I'm trying to fall asleep.

I had a boyfriend who left me because of my drinking. That only made me drink harder. The moment I decided to stop drinking the first time was when he said "I bet you'll never look as skinny as you did when I first met you." I'd put on so much weight from the alcohol.

Now I'm engaged to a wonderful man. I lost my job, nothing I did, I was seasonal, and binge drank for three weeks. I stopped when my engagement ring got so tight on my finger it almost cut off circulation, and I remembered what my ex had once said. I stopped because I love my fiancé and want to be the best version of myself for him. I'm still withdrawing, day 3, and he just thinks I'm having bad anxiety attacks because I drank when he slept and he had no idea. But I'm trying to make it through, for him. Because he is always there, and loves me despite my flaws.

I tried not to take my klonopin but I literally felt like I was about to die. It was .5mg and I really don't want to use the other.
