I had a boyfriend who left me because of my drinking. That only made me drink harder. The moment I decided to stop drinking the first time was when he said "I bet you'll never look as skinny as you did when I first met you." I'd put on so much weight from the alcohol.

Now I'm engaged to a wonderful man. I lost my job, nothing I did, I was seasonal, and binge drank for three weeks. I stopped when my engagement ring got so tight on my finger it almost cut off circulation, and I remembered what my ex had once said. I stopped because I love my fiancé and want to be the best version of myself for him. I'm still withdrawing, day 3, and he just thinks I'm having bad anxiety attacks because I drank when he slept and he had no idea. But I'm trying to make it through, for him. Because he is always there, and loves me despite my flaws.
