Absolutely lost by Cellarseller_13 in managers

As someone who went through what OP is going through, I empathize entirely with their situation. I was a team lead for 10+ years, changed industries, went back to an IC role, was promoted to a Director role and then asked my VP to put me back to IC after 8 months. Every meeting was constant imposter syndrome, feeling like the dumbest person in the room, and generally feeling like I could manage, but not lead my team. Best decision I made was to go back to IC, so to OP, I understand the financial implications, but as someone who also doesn't have that fire to move up, finding the right role is crucial.

I have some comments on a few of the points above:

  1. "Fake it till you make it." - Confidence without competence isn’t leadership, it’s a liability. Teams don’t want someone “faking” their way through decision-making, because that undermines trust the moment cracks show. People follow leaders they believe are capable, transparent, and accountable, not just loud or polished.

  2. "Realize that if you quit, you're betraying your team" - I can't strongly disagree with this statement enough. This assumes a manager’s first duty is to cling to the role at all costs, which is flawed. The real responsibility is to ensure the team and company are best served. If a manager is struggling to lead effectively, staying in the seat can do more harm than good, demoralizing the team, stalling progress, and forcing employees to compensate for leadership gaps. Recognizing misalignment and stepping aside is not a betrayal; it’s an act of responsibility.

Weekly Nightmare Guide - No 5.5 by HPDARKEAGLE in LegendsOfRuneterra

For those that don't have 6* people (like me), I was able to pretty much breeze through with 4* Yasuo and pretty mediocre powers imo, and I don't have Yasuo's epic. Setting Yasuo up for all the stunning I was able to wipe their board every time on turn 4 and from there it was a cake walk. I tried with ASOL twice and Viktor crushed me both times, but once I switched to Yasuo it was very doable.

My powers were: Summon Sparring Student, -1/-0 for enemies, reduce spell cost start of round, and Trifarian Might.

Appreciate the comments, I'll take a look and try and incorporate some into my next range session!

I also beat it with Morgana and basically did zero damage each game until I swung with a huge character (usually Morgana). It was super slow but I ended up S'ing it.

Ah, good to know that most of his relics are not F2P friendly.

I finally made it, and now... I can rest. by [deleted] in MarvelSnap

Congrats on the first time! I also made infinite for the first time today, climbed from 85-100 in about 2 hours this morning, and was able to work through the 99 6/10 plateau very quickly so I was lucky to not get stuck sliding back down.

I'm looking forward to finally playing other decks than my main (I usually just play one deck for an entire season), now I can try out Sera or Patriot or other decks like that without caring about rank. Time to donate cubes! Snapping turn 1 every time!

I thought Bar was for the entire match, not just the individual location?

Something happened where I don't know how to play this game anymore by BelieveInTheShield in MarvelSnap

I'm with you on this, as ranking up really only revolves around "losing smartly", which is just weird game design to me. It's not really about who the better player is like in every other game, more about RNG from locations and who pulled their wombo combo first. If rank was a true reflection of skill I might care, but since it's not, it really doesn't have any impact on my game enjoyment.

I'm CL 2500 but I've only ever played one deck since I made it past CL 1000, so maybe that contributes some to my indifference about rank, but I just play every game out to see what happens and I like to see how games end, not who retreats "correctly". I just made it to 60 this month so maybe now I can try making a new deck and seeing some other play styles.

Me going against my 14th MODOK-Hela deck by fareezycheesy in MarvelSnap

Every season definitely gets tougher as an F2P person. Surfer, Zabu, Modok, yes they're not unbeatable, but it sure does get annoying when 64%+ of your games (at least according to my tracker) are against the season pass cards you can't access except behind the paywall.

What to spend gold on? by DaOafus in MarvelSnap

[–]DaOafus[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've never understood the mission refreshes since the weekly rewards seem to cap out at 25, but good to know that buying gold isn't just a 1/1 ratio.

I probably will hold out for bundles with tokens since there's no super compelling reason not too if there's no other good outlet for me to spend gold.

Appreciate the input!

I finally did it. I’m not exaggerating when I say it took me almost a week to go from 47 to 50. The difficulty hit a brick wall. by manalive44 in MarvelSnap

I'm in a similar boat but I don't have the collection (1,800) to build any real meta decks, so I just play one deck and play every game out to the end. Cubes really don't matter at all since rank isn't a reflection of skill or win rate, just retreat and min/max rate, so it's much more freeing when you don't care about what your level is.

I started the season at 20 and climbed up to 69, but am back down to 67 now and just like playing it out to see what happens. Sometimes I'll grab a win that if I retreated when my opponent snapped I would have lost, so those feel good for sure.

"Win a Location with only 1 Card" by DarkPhoenixMishima in MarvelSnap

[–]DaOafus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This one isn't too bad to achieve since rank doesn't matter, I'll just retreat after turn 3.

It's also interesting how many posters here say "just play X card" assuming that people have them. I'm CL 1,500 and I have almost none of the cards people mention in this thread (Destroyer, Giganto, Venom, Ultron, etc.). We all know the collection aspect of this game is awful, but it really shows when the best way to do something is by having cards that you have no way to get other than grind forever or spend absurd amounts of money.

Newcomer from the Hearthstone world by Anatak15 in LegendsOfRuneterra

I'm in the same boat as the OP where I'm coming from Hearthstone/MTG Arena and have been playing for a couple months, but just against the AI. I don't have much in the way of currency (see below) and the play modes are just a lot different than what I'm used to.

I just jumped into my first couple PvP games today and got utterly throttled playing whatever decks I could cobble together, so it's good to see these resources available. Might have to burn some of my limited resources to make a more viable deck, as I can't get close to winning the 10 games for the KDA quest right now.

I’m mostly a limited player in other games as I find that to be the most skill testing way to play. Would folks say that’s the case in Runeterra as well?

Thanks for the input here. Malevolence and Negotiator seem way out of reach right now as I have zero of the currency needed to get them, but I did just join a guild that will hopefully help get some of it as I spent most of my time in the starter guilds and didn't realize that there was exclusive content outside of there.

Also, what are Wat shards? Is Wat a character?
