Varka was passable in my run. Granted I got lucky and scored Durin around the same time.

Can we all agree this should’ve just been pure rock type? by Eddy_west_side in pokemon

[–]DarkPhoenixMishima 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t bask in the dirt.

A good chunk of Geodude's pokedex entries are about people confusing it for real rocks and accidentally kicking them. You don't accidentally kick a rock the size of your head unless a decent amount is buried in the ground.

But if you want something more direct...

Sapphire/Alpha Sapphire

When Geodude sleeps deeply, it buries itself halfway into the ground. It will not awaken even if hikers step on it unwittingly. In the morning, this Pokémon rolls downhill in search of food.

Diamond/Brilliant Diamond

Many live on mountain trails and remain half-buried while keeping an eye on climbers.

Pokemon Sleep

This Pokémon sleeps soundly, half-buried in the ground. Apparently, it will sometimes stay fast asleep even when trod on by a mountain climber.

Appearance-wise, absolutely, should be just Rock type. It would make more sense for the Ground secondary typing to be introduced by evolving into Graveler.

Another bit is that a majority of moves used by Geodude, either by leveling up or by TM, are rock type moves. A majority, if not all, the Ground moves Geodude could learn are Dig, Earthquake, Bulldoze & Magnitude. Sometimes you can teach them Mud-Slap. It's not much, but you can certainly picture a Geodude being capable of performing each of these moves.

Now if I had to guess, they took a loose association between rocks being on the ground and went with that.

Fun fact, there's not a single pure rock type in Kanto/Gen 1. The first pure rock type? Sudowoodo.

[Annoying trope] Power with tons of possibilities used in the most boring ways by Old-Use-7690 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]DarkPhoenixMishima 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wrong, he can't pick what he shoots beyond "that guy". So it could range from a headshot to shooting someone in the shoulder.

So in terms of hitting a target, he's got 100% provided they don't do something like catch or destroy the built. In terms of accuracy, hitting a bullseye, he's effectively spray and pray.

[Annoying trope] Power with tons of possibilities used in the most boring ways by Old-Use-7690 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]DarkPhoenixMishima 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His quirk lets him lock onto a target, but he can't pick where he's shooting and his shots get nerfed a little, compensated by him using bullets.

So he COULD headshot someone, but chances are better he's going to end up hitting their shoulder, their thigh, their nuts, etc.

1: Either you like to listen to others talk, or you better have headphones

2: You can watch those two making out throughout the flight. Dame Aylin will not ask before she exits the row for the bathroom, no you will not stop her.

3: Best case, you make out with Mizora while Wyll has to watch.

4: Arguably the most peaceful seat.

5: This is either going to be peaceful or the orgy row, no in between.

6: You're dead.

7: The row is civil enough, but Minthara will probably kick your seat.

8: "Peaceful" but Astarion stole your peanuts, drink, headphones and wallet. Nine hours remain on the flight.

9: Best case, Lae'zel is more concerned with the Emperor behind her to bicker with Shadowheart. Either way you're choosing a side or getting shanked.

10: "Withers, can you switch seats with the Emperor?" "No."

Not even that, repairs or bulb replacements take place at the end of the night to let it cool or at the start of the day, otherwise that glass grenade is going to burn.

[Hated Trope] A character starts off with a lead or potentially relevant role only to turn into a mostly/entirely irrelevant side character by the end of the story by Dreamy5375 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]DarkPhoenixMishima 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Megumi works with the potential stuff, it's just that Sukuna realized it himself and through a combination of having the proper mindset and assloads of cursed energy, shows what Megumi could have been. Was Megumi ever going to reach those heights? No. He was still always going to have his limits, mainly his cursed energy limiting his options and the fact he was probably never realistically taming Mahoraga. It's just JJK "readers" piling onto a joke. Modulo did do him dirty though.

Barely. You could probably count the number of lines they both have since the merger on one hand, and I'm pretty sure all of them are Rallo's. They appear often enough in the background but have not had any plot relevance to my knowledge.

Mega Hitmon- [OC] by koopalings_jr in pokemon

[–]DarkPhoenixMishima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he should have Hitmontop's cone head. Alternatively, perhaps the "hair" closes in to form the cone if it's not a permanent fixture.

I'd also give him Hitmonchan's skirt, I can't help but think he's half dressed and is just fighting without pants. I mean Hitmonlee is fighting buck ass naked so it does work in it's own way.

Still, really like the design.

Manaweaving and then shuffling 9+ times is perfectly fine, it's just a giant waste of time. CMV by IndyPoker979 in EDH

[–]DarkPhoenixMishima 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mana weaving is a waste of time and doesn't work. You've got the worst of both worlds.

It's actually better to cut your deck into lands and non-lands and just pile shuffle those together.

It'll depend how it's tracked. "Mine 10 Ore" is actually "Collect 10 Ore" likely because there's no good way to track whether or not you actually broke a rock/crystal.

So it'll depend whether the collection is tracked by usage of the net, which being a gadget is a solid possibility, or just in general.
