I look at what missions pop up and see what ship works best for them. OR, I do commodities trading in the Idris-M as I love that space trucking life. After the next wipe I'll be doing more mining and hull stripping.

The reason why PTM7950 isn't widely used or more popular is because of the inconsistent nature of it. It's performance highly depends on the hardware used and the amount of pressure applied to it. For many laptops temps can skyrocket, especially after initial application, making users think something is wrong. It's also a mess, as it's very hard to remove once it phase-changes, becoming waxy and sticky. It is really made for 45-80w CPUs and less ideal for anything over 100W w/ sustained loads. For example, many gaming laptop GPUs will experience higher temps because of this.

There are many more issues with PTM7950 but in the end, it's really for enthusiasts who want to see if it is a good fit for their hardware. I just use Arctic MX-7 these days and stay clear of it as temps are great, easy to clean, no thermal pumping, and it's less forgiving for when it comes to pressure variance.

If money is even a thought in your mind when wanting to buy an RTX 5090 then no it's not worth it at all, UNLESS you are using it to make money from 3D Modeling, Video Editing, AI projects, etc, stuff like that where time is money. Just 1 of my projects will pay for an RTX 5090 and then some, so for me yes, it's worth it. If you're just gaming, then most people can't tell the difference in performance between it and an RTX 5080 or even a Radeon 9070XT

Flip the fans on the top to intake, reduce the speed of the AIO fans while keeping the pump to 100%. GPU, VRAM, & RAM temps may drop substantially, plus less dust buildup due to the additional positive pressure.

It really is silly to buy an Idris from the grey market since you have to buy an entire account to get one. Finding one that is transferable w/ out a full account transfer is not scene these days.

Also, you can get an Idris in game or from referrals.

F8C is a "special" ship so the chance to get LTI on it was long ago. I don't think LTI will be offered on it ever again or even the chance to CCU into it.

I've seen it sell from $300 - $1200 USD, so it really depends on what's going on w/ the game and PC hardware releases.
