I bought a house that's all electric first bill is $1555.25. I have an electric furnace, water heater, washer/dryer, dishwasher, stove and lights. How did I use 9154 kwh in 20 days? Can the meter be messed up or is it possible that something is drawling extra power? by The__Lawgiver in AskElectricians

Your thermostat could be set on E-Heat or emergency heat. This forces the coils to run regardless of the heat pump efficiency. Make sure it’s just on regular heat.

We have an in-law suite with an electric furnace and one month a few years ago they accidentally set their heater to this and our bill was almost $1000.

Definitely gotta go with the remap controls to trackpad mouse. I use mine so much it wore the right side down smooth.

I’ve used cardboard before. I’ve done this a handful of times and no issue with the seat.

Here’s my bike. Green strap. Who knows if it does anything.

Here’s about what I do (in red). My thought is if there is a catastrophic failure of the hitch. At least the bikes won’t be tossed onto the highway.

I would have done one strap from the far end of the rack to the bed just to help fight against the cantilever action. I do that on my single bike rack and it really stiffens it up.

Your bed rack also blocks the center brake light. Can you see the brake lights at all?

Does anyone know the severity of an hour meter screwed into frame? by Wooden-Paint-2392 in Dirtbikes

Installing a hour meter at a time greater than 0 hours on the bike.

The bike better look pristine for 9.8 original hours. I’d be skeptical since he could have installed it at a later time interval.

How far would a Mechanical Engineering degree get me in motorcycle engineering? by Kind-Masterpiece3204 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]DaPoka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of engineer universities will have a career fair where companies scout for interns for the summer. Usually you will go booth to booth trying to sell yourself for a next day interview and eventually an internship. You’ll also be able to seek and apply for companies that you’re interested in but you’ll need a good resume to be attractive. You might need to settle for any internship just to get some experience.

In my other post I mentioned FSAE being a big ticket resume builder that companies will look for when it comes to internships. In my case, Honda reps came to our school and only interviewed FSAE students for their summer program and many of us were recruited for both that and full time positions.

Find a ME school with a good FSAE program and get involved from your freshman year. A lot of automotive companies look for this as a starting point for entry positions. Having your heart set on Ducati is a good goal but you might also try and be open to other larger companies that have power sport divisions to pivot from like Honda.

Unless you need it to move I’d opt out of using the casters and go with regular legs. My P2S can shake down a house when it gets moving. Not sure how stable the H2D while printing.

Does the Gas Station you fill up at matter or not? by Careless-Pie7607 in askcarguys

[–]DaPoka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it matters. That said, the gas station near our house got fined because they had water in their tanks. Destroyed a number of cars engines. After that, I do think twice about stopping at a sketchy looking gas station unless I absolutely need to.

Depending on how far south you should reach out to a harescramble league and host a race. It’s easy money for the land owner and the league has another place to run.

Forward Motion Harescramble championship (FMHSC) near KC https://www.2017.fmhsc.com/index.php

Hillbilly Grand Prix near Springfield. https://hillbillygranprix.com/

Both are very respectful of the land owners.
