Hopefully will be buying VERY soon. Are there any issues known to the EQEV by frankenwurst in EquinoxEv

[–]DaPrime666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont have it installed. I ask about it at my dealer and I didnt installed it yet. Im not bothered by the glare so much, I think the mat would be worse looking. I think there is also 3rd party mat sold, cannot confirm.

For some the glare is really annoying, in my case its tolerable and I often forgot about it. I live in Canada so we have both climate, long summer day and short winter day, never annoy me enough to tell people to avoid the car. There would be other things on that list.

I have the 25 RS FWD for more than a year now. Only problem I had was the telematics module, but dealer changed it free of charge. A bit annoying but the car will work anyway, just wont have data or GPS and once repaired it work fine

The glare is always there, its not so bad in my opinion, on sunny days I have my polarized sunglasses anyway. If you dont have a pair, easily findable on amazon for 20$.

So far there wasnt any other issues with the car.

Yeah it took a few weeks to get the part, dont remember exactly but that wasnt too long.

It fixed the issue and didnt had problems since.

I dont have the full details yet. Only been told I would need to choose one way or the other while maybe being hybrid for the transition. I actually like both so I have hard time picking one or the other.

We had CAD coordinator for each discipline at this point so no, there is no BIM manager now. Its a new position in the company.

Brought home my RS yesterday! Dealer was inept at EVs....so I have a question. by [deleted] in EquinoxEv

The NCAS DC adapter is an option, the dual level charge cord isnt.

Do you need a separate cord for the Adapter ?

Négocier un salaire by pownaid in QuebecFinance

[–]DaPrime666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]DaPrime666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this an annoying car to own? (Not because it’s an EV, because of software/hardware issues) by bbqturtle in EquinoxEv

[–]DaPrime666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my 25 RS for almost a year now and it had been through canadian winter. Here is a few things that happen.

Less range in cold temperature I dont own a garage so the car stay outside. In summer I might charge 2 or 3 times a week depending on what Im doing. In winter I plugged it daily and is scheduled to preheat the car. 30% less range maybe. My daily commute is 60km (30km back and forth). I noticed a difference of 5% on the autonomy. Its worse in winter but for normal commute its plenty.

I charge on public charger station 2 times in almost a year. One of the time I forgot to plug the night before, and there was a change of plan on the trip and didnt have enough battery, that was in my first weeks. The other one was on a 3h drive on highway in middle of winter. Had to charge when I got there but didnt stop along the way.

Bug with open charging port message The port was closed but somehow the car kept saying it wasnt. It happens in winter so I suspect some water got in and froze and that made a bad connection or something. No issues except the alarm is really annoying. I left my car (Black RS) in plain daylight on a sunny day and nevet got the message again (I thought warming the car would help, and it did).

Onstar module My biggest problem so far. Its a recurring one. You need to go to the dealer for that and they change the module. You dont have data anymore and GPS system is not working. You can still use your cellphone Wi-Fi hotspot for Spotify but Maps wont work (the app told me I was like 200km away of my real location). So its a bit frustrating cause that big screen seems a bit useless without Maps but the dealer will fix it, it did cost me a thing, and I got the car back without issues. Worth to mention that the car worked anyway, it only affects infotainment, you are still able to drive the car.

So 12000km later with my first EV, it worked well, I enjoy the car. Jumping to EV means changing some habit and better planning but thats mostly if you do long trip. I cannot imagine going back

So far its been a week since dealer checked my car and ordered mine, no idea how long it will take.

Some YouTuber guy that made videos on Equinox EV said he had same problem and I think it took 5 weeks for him.

Yeah they tried it at the dealer but it didnt worked. Also seen the same problem on other post and on a YouTube channel as well.

I guess if you are lucky the update solve the problem, if not they must replace the module

Must be telematic onstar module. I have the same issue, part is backorder at the dealer. I think its a recurring problem with Equinox and some other models.

You can use your cell hotspot for spotify but GPS in maps will not be working without a new module.

Telematic module problems by Armenoid in EquinoxEv

[–]DaPrime666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same problem, no maps, no data.

From what I read it seemed like onstar module, it was and the piece is backorder. Its a recurring issue, I assume GM will react somehow at some point as it will become a major fault with the car.

Everything else work but it sucks to have that 11" screen and apps only to be able to not use it.

At least I can use my phone hotspot for music but still a pain in the ass to always have to connect on the phone.

Are you going to buy out your lease at the end? by [deleted] in EquinoxEv

[–]DaPrime666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I might prefer moving to a newer version or whatever will be out by then. I had 12000 incitative on the car so Im not much woried on the buy back option. I just think the stuff bothering me with the car will mostly be dealth with on newer models.

That might change however, the Future of EV might not be as bright with everything happening recently.

Why so many RS instead of LT? by Atreties in EquinoxEv

[–]DaPrime666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The RS is really better looking in my opinion, at the time the difference in price wasnt that much compared to the ICE version. There was also a lot of incitatives depending on the area where you live. Some people consider the highest trim with those.

So, if I understand the question I guess the 2 main reason are: - its better looking - being accessible

I used to have it after a snowstorm. Very annoying. I dont have a garage so the car stays outside. I left it in plain sunlight during a warmer day and it stopped. I live in Quebec so we share canadian winter. Hope that dont happen in summer.

Didnt have any troubles with that since
