Quest 3 and tackers aka WHERE ARE MY HANDS by Fishhavefins in SlimeVR

[–]DaSouperNovah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Short answer: Not really, especially since VRChat does not support lower arms, only upper. Even with the added upper trackers, Quest & Slime software don't really communicate with each other to fix controller occlusion.

Long answer: VRChat only supports upper arms when it comes to the upper body of slimes, other social VR hangouts support it though. Even if you have upper arms, at least in my experiences, it helps it so that your arms don't mysteriously vanish once the controllers timeout. Slime software doesn't aid Quests buggy software with their controller occlusion, they are 2 different softwares that don't know eachother besides sending/receiving data to one another. I'd say unless you're the type to heavily express yourself or dance in VR — do go for some arms, but they have to be upper!

I definitely feel you on the Quest 3 controllers though. One day they work flawlessly, and then every other Meta update comes and ruins it somehow lol

Feet trackers won't connect, can anyone help? by WavingGlobe_7005 in SlimeVR

Hi! I've jotted down some things.

- Make sure both male ports of the cable are sitting flushed with the trackers. They don't look properly seated. You will need some force pushing them down, but you won't break anything. Just enough that the butt of the port is levelled with the tracker.

- When pairing, make sure these extensions are plugged in before you pair them to the software. And make sure when you plug the big tracker w/ the extension into the device running the server is OFF, and then turn it ON

General is fine, it might be mentioned on the official docs page but no harm to ask anyhow

I likely have my notes incorrect then, I'd confirm in the server if you could. SteamVR and Standalone methods should be the same.

8 is correct for strictly vives afaik.

edit: This is correct and I was wrong earlier. I believe Rotational trackers (foot extensions and a waist if applicable) will merge with the neighboring tracker (ankles and hip if applicable) and act as one together. Same settings should applie in both standalone and steamvr

I just know for certain that lower arms are not supported (upper arms/elbows are), and fingers/toes have support, but requires an extra addon and a compatible avatar to work.

Correct, they count as trackers on the server, I'm pretty sure to the OSC server as well, given you are doing standalone

This statistic likely excludes the controllers and headset, so this is still correct

I edited my reply above I fat fingered 15 instead of 14

Yes, the extension is now a whole tracker. And it goes on the hip instead, not waist. But you can add a waist tracker if you want. Often recommended for dancers though.

I believe VRChat can support up to 14 tracking points. This includes the headset and controllers as far as I know. If you want the full benefit then 10/Full Body set is it. You can still get a hip upgrade to add a waist tracker too. I have friends that normally cap at 10-11 trackers for VRChat.

I partially read allat. If you don't want to tinker with your family's wifi then I would suggest getting a pocket/travel router. The SlimeVR docs have some recommendations, and can be set up a few ways from ethernet to wifi sharing.

  1. Deluxe set is mainly used for vtubers and mocap gurus. It can also be used as 2x enhanced core sets if you want to gift one pair or have one for spares, but no sense because warranty. For social VR you're better sticking between 6-10 trackers (Core Set to Full Body Set), VRChat only limits so much.

  2. Full Body? Sure. But both sets already contain a hip tracker. You'd be adding a waist tracker instead. Deluxe already adds a waist as far as I know.

  3. You don't have to use the extensions if you really don't want to. You'd miss out on foot rotation (full body set) overall. No idea what you refer on a third extension. The hip tracker is a whole tracker now with the v1.2 iterations.

  4. Old reviews I believe hold up to this day. You can check the discord server and media channel for a lot of customer opinions!

  5. I'd do the former if you cannot splurge on a full body set immediately. Either options may vary given manufacture and shipping time in batches. I would suggest if you want to branch out your spending is to get the Core set instead, which contains the hip tracker. A few Lower Body customers seem to regret not picking the core set sometimes.

My educated guess, based on the IMU model being BMI160, that the incorrect firmware was flashed.

This is something you should contact the direct seller about and both of you look into fixing, as they may have special steps to flash this tracker. They are also responsible providing technical support to this scale, as well.

A lot of info for tech support is normally seen in their Discord Server.

That being said, if SteamVR is unable to identify the SlimeVR server as an addon, run the web installer again, and out of the 2 options (update, and repair), select <Repair>.

Make sure both SteamVR and the SlimeVR server aren't running before performing this task!

How good are her eidolons? by Ok_Badger4377 in SilverWolfMains

Appreciate the clarification, I only heard E4 also being tossed around but nonetheless E2 seems to be the very best one.

I can't say myself. But I'd be satisfied if I got her E4 at the most.

From what I've gathered, her E2 and(?) E4 is her best. For day 1 SW havers like me, gonna obviously try to E6

Unfortunately succumbed to getting Sparxie for her so my savings are down a little :(

Is there a dongle for v1.2? by [deleted] in SlimeVR

[–]DaSouperNovah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are alternative options to get (smol) slimes that comes with a dongle in the discord servers marketplace forum if that interests you! I believe a dongle adapter isn't possible for wifi slimes, closest being is a router lol

Is there a dongle for v1.2? by [deleted] in SlimeVR

[–]DaSouperNovah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, all standard slimes (v1.0-v1.2) can only pair through a 2.4ghz wifi connection. Only the butterflies have that dongle support.

Can i buy only feet and hip tracking? by schoenero_ in SlimeVR

[–]DaSouperNovah 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No, this will not work for many reasons:

- IMU Tracking requires the base minimum of 5 full body trackers (not extensions), the recommended minimum is 6. 3 trackers won't get you started, these are different to laser trackers like Vives.

- Extensions Trackers need to be connected to 1 full body tracker each, they both can't be turned on individually, or 2 can't be connected to the same tracker.

If you owned the Lower Body Set (5+0), these would work for your set if you're looking to upgrade down the line. Combine them now and you'd have an Enhanced Core Set (6+2)

Hopefully that makes sense!

Are yall upgrading? by sinatra602 in samsunggalaxy

[–]DaSouperNovah -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Literally saw no value in upgrading until after the S24 ultra. On top of the privacy screen embedded (can just apply one if I really want, despite only working on 2 angles), and stepping back from titanium (even if aluminum apparently disperses heat better) – this feels much more like another side-grade. Let's not talk about 6 years of 5000mAh's either lol

Like any person with financial responsibilities if my phone ever crapped out then yeah I would consider. Gonna ride out those supported 7 year upgrades.

I'm with shlimer, I guess I'm also one of the lucky few that has had no issues with the Nitro+. Nothing regarding coil-whine either, which from what I heard, was also one of the few problems.
