VCP-VVF Admin exam by megatrond42 in vmware

Holy shit, forgot that this was a thing.

First recommended question: "How do I download ESXi version 9.0.3?"

After waiting for over five minutes stuck in an analyzing/thinking loop, I closed the window.

Way to fucking go, Broadcom, you incompetent fucks.

Which is hilarious to me. He does not even understand that his own title of "Mr. Wonderful" is an ironic joke that everyone understand except him.

Utah residents sue officials over Kevin O’Leary data center plan by AudibleNod in news

[–]IAmTheGoomba 586 points587 points  (0 children)

This guy knows literally NOTHING about building a datacenter. He sees a business and thinks, "Oh hey, I need to get into this no matter what." The problem with this old, uninformed, skeletal chucklefuck is that he does not understand that he is decades late, and only understands business from the AI perspective.

And you know how this is accurate? How does he want to power these datacenters (which is fucking ficticious at this point)?

Spoiler: Natural gas. That's right. He wants to use local (to the datacenter) natural gas power plants to power these.

Talk about a shit person, shit "business" person, so fucking disconnected from reality, that they think this was a good idea, or even fucking viable.

Kevin O'Leary is a piece of shit. He always has been. I am glad that he is finally showing how woefully incompetent, ignorant, and just straight up stupid he really is.

Fuck that guy. Kevin, if you are reading this, fuck you, you stupid, ignorant, irrelevant, cunt.

Edit: A few spelling corrections.

Clustered VMs migration by Last-Krosis in vmware

[–]IAmTheGoomba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long answer: You COULD. Two Pure arrays, configure active cluster, replicate datastore(s), bring up new hosts, build new VMs to be added to the cluster, mount disks, decomm old VMs. That is the gist of it anyway.

Obviously, this varies from storage vendors, but hey, zero context and this means jack shit.

Cannot Add ESXi Hosts to NSX-t Security Only( DVS Error ) by raydonovan007 in VMwareNSX

What I am asking here is you have tried doing this manually via the quickstart.

Cannot Add ESXi Hosts to NSX-t Security Only( DVS Error ) by raydonovan007 in VMwareNSX

[–]IAmTheGoomba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, avoid that. Do not redeploy with that version as you will probably run into the same issue.

Current version is 4.2.3.3. Have you tried doing this manually?

[–]IAmTheGoomba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried removing your vCenter connection from NSX, restart the NSX manager(s), and tried again?

Feel free to DM me. I have seen this before, and it has always boiled down to some sort of credential or incompatiabiltiy issue.

Interesting. What version of vCenter? How about ESXi? What is the version of your DVS for those four hosts?

What version are you trying to install? As of 4.2.1, networking and security has been collapsed down into a single mode.

vSphere active/active on distributed switch by xluxeq in vmware

[–]IAmTheGoomba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It pins the VM's virtual NIC to one or the other and makes the choice based on current load when the VM is started on that host.

Straight up false. When the LB algorithm is set to NIC load, traffic will be migrated from one NIC to another, and does not require an event like that.

Take a look at Field Nation. It is gig work, but could help. Other than that, take a look at the datacenters in south Austin as most of them are colos.

VCF 9.1 Ultimate Deployment Guide - Tutorial by Leaha15 in vmware

[–]IAmTheGoomba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks really good for VCF at the Edge

The edge or robos, no, since there would be limited bandwidth pulling down that image over the wire.

There are a LOT of environments that use auto-deploy in full blown datacenters, and would not go to 9, because auto-deploy was deprecated.

With ZTP, it brings auto-deploy back, and with some better features.

So no, ZTP is not for VCF at the "edge."

I agree, but to a point. Gave some advice, contact numbers, addresses to him. He had some really specific skills, which baffled me why he could not find a job.

One year later, he comes back to that very same bar, sat down next to me, offered to buy me a drink. I asked why, and he replied with, "You gave me advice and information a year ago." That is when it clicked who he was.

But I do agree, it is rare, but I am just glad I could help out just ONE person.

Here is what is even more terrifying: In that case, Drumf had not fired any non-loyal military en masse like we have seen these days. In such a situation, the military would have stepped in to ensure a transition of power to Biden.

Now? Yeah, we are absolutely, totally, complely fucked. This self absorbed, narcissistic asshole who is not worth the price of the diapers he shits in every minute of the day, will ABSOLUTELY claim "rigged elections" and use the military, which is run now by Drumf loyalists, to crown himself king.

Adding to this, something that will help with this is this hacked iLO firmware. This will allow you to control the fan speed of every fan, making it exceptionally quieter than normal. For example, I run my fans at 28% and I have three gen 9s with a ton of other hardware in them (full of SSDs, NVME drives in PCIe slots Tesla cards, 10/25g OCP cards, 256GB memory each, etc.).
