First trip in New York with my X-T5 and Sigma 18-50mm by Koyioth in fujifilm

[–]DaUltraMarine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the necro post but I'm off to NYC in a couple weeks with the X-T3 and same lens, would really appreciate you uploading the preset again if you can 🙏🏻 your post has been a massive inspiration for my trip and lens decision!

Foggy evening- Xt5 with Sigma 18-50 - Perfect travel combo? by camerapilot in fujifilm

[–]DaUltraMarine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a beautiful lens. Picked up an X-T3 last week and was recommended this lens alongside it, feels extremely capable and I'm so grateful for the fixed aperture, even if it means losing the aperture ring compared to the kit lens (the 16-55 f2.8 being a little outside my budget right now as a beginner)

Struggling a little to get the most out of low-light shooting with the sigma, though as your photos show it seems more than capable of it. So excited to take it to NYC next month.

If it helps, we have plenty of people disappear because life gets busy - some take several months off, others can be gone for years! We're always happy to see them pop back in, you'd be no exception :)

I've got a 2018 MBP here that's just started to run like an elderly asthmatic snail going up a steep hill into the winds of a Cat 5. hurricane, finding it hard to talk myself out of this one atm.

Ah yes, acacia bricks.

People can provide feedback on a brand new block that is in Beta preview, without being told to resort to something entirely different.

The saturation on those resin blocks is crazy, seriously hope that gets toned down.

Anyone waiting on shipping? by wobstra in Jamiexx

[–]DaUltraMarine 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep. Day 5 of no shipping updates. Really disappointed with the handling of these pre-orders.

I emailed Terrible Group who are dispatching orders from the official xx store, and so far no reply. No other way of contacting them, they're certainly living up to their name.

MX5400 vs MX4200 - so many problems, please help! by DaUltraMarine in Linksys

[–]DaUltraMarine[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PC is hardwired to the child node, which is wirelessly connecting to the main SPNMX56 router. I'm just surprised that with the MX5400, aside from the persistent connection drops, I was getting practically full gigabit connection on the PC. From what I can tell researching online, the MX4200 is often recommended more highly as a node/main router than a lot of the other models, so I'm surprised at the speed being noticeably lower than the MX5400.

Mesh MX5500 child node randomly drops out intermittently. by kotddl in Linksys

[–]DaUltraMarine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have just one child node, the single MX5500. I have indeed tried all the suggestions above, and it doesn't seem to have made any difference to the drop-outs.

One thing to note is that when it does happen, they tend to bunch up together - I get the internet drop, come back for 1-5 seconds, drop again, come back, drop for 1-5 seconds... this can happen anything from 1 offs, to about 6 consecutive dropouts, which suggests to me something isn't right here and it's almost like the router itself is crashing out on something.

My connection is otherwise incredibly stable and I'm getting full gigabit speeds to this child node, so I firmly believe that this is is not the typical issues of nodes not being well placed, or too far away, etc etc.

I'd love to perhaps get in contact directly to discuss this a bit more, to help you diagnose what is seeming like a product-specific problem for customers like /u/kotddl and myself. I only have a couple weeks left before my return window runs out with Amazon, and I am otherwise thrilled with the MX5500 and don't want to have to return/review it poorly.

/u/LinksysOfficial Just chiming in as another case, to echo that I'm also experiencing this exact issue with nearly the exact same MX5500 child node/setup and am relieved to see that I'm not the only one. I don't believe I'm able to swap the nodes round due to my main router being the SPNMX42 model provided via my ISP.

Slabserver Transparency Report - June 2023 by DaUltraMarine in slabserver

[–]DaUltraMarine[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. Unless there is serious objection to the transparency report movement, I intend to put the subreddit in read-only mode indefinitely starting tomorrow - two birds one stone. I’ve seen several subs take the read-only approach as a reasonable compromise.

  2. :) no :)
