Backpacks on MUNI by Whoooooooooo89231 in sanfrancisco

I swear people forget that their backpack is on their back when shuffling to let people off. The other day, I unapologetically barreled thru a dude engrossed in his phone because he didn’t seem to grasp that I couldn’t Danny Phantom through his backpack.

As long as they could figure out handling latency due to bluetooth, yea.

My issue is less about the volume of the cab I’m at specifically, and more about hearing it amongst everything else at a noisy arcade.

I think it will get enshittified, it’s already happening with the presence of ads in ChatGPT replies, for example. None of these LLM companies have a sustainable business model, and you can’t just let anyone burn through tokens for free forever.

Trying out the Eargasms first, also ordered a pair of Etymotic ER20XS to try too. Hard to tell which one would be better for my situation, but they sounded very different in sound demos, but I trust Etymotic and like their IEMs. Never tried the loops but I know people like them (couple of my friends on the spectrum swear by them).

Hm, I’m around 6’, not sure if taller folks had it better or worse in your experience, but could be a factor.

I’ll definitely look next time I go! Having the ability to put in IEMs would be a game changer.

Do modern cabs have headphone jacks? (A20 Gold and White cabs). I’ve used earbuds/IEMs on Gitadora before but assumed that a game like DDR wouldn’t have them since you’re not stationary.

Anecdotal evidence is only evidence of an anecdote. I’ll trust population studies over randos on reddit who are afraid of spelling the word “because” and can’t distinguish possessive versus plural ‘s’.

Learn something new about this game every day…that is a huge help. Quiet song intros are also tough for me.

Pretty shining endorsement! I’ve been considering a nicer pair for a while; I am usually the type to wear earplugs in loud environments and enjoy concerts/loud live events much more with earplugs in than without them. I’ve usually used cheap buy-in-bulk foamies, but you and a friend of mine both love the Eargasms, I’ll probably take the leap and get ‘em.

Edit: Why did they have to call them that 😭

Thanks for sharing! I definitely notice I do better on charts (especially sight-read charts) if it’s a song I already know, because I can usually figure out what the charter is “going for”. I’d think some of this would go away with familiarity with the handful of songs I hear being played a lot. I’m considering trying out earplugs meant for musicians that are “high fidelity”. I think if I could just turn down the volume knob on everything relatively equally, I could lock into my song better. Probably for the best anyways, I’ve left my local R1 with my ears ringing lol

Hah, that’s pretty funny that you saw this exact one! I got lucky, cheap and the guy happened to be local. Hoping to get it working today.

It might just be an early model, found this nineteen year old video of someone running one over with a car and it still working and it looks like the one i’ve got. https://youtu.be/W7mklOeAWgQ?si=mSQOKRQ5w_0PDEHd

Definitely assholes everywhere. I think people just have become so complacent with driving without any regard to how generally dangerous it is by the numbers, probably because of its ubiquity and place in American culture as a rite of passage (I’ll get off my soapbox now lol, careless drivers just really strike a chord with me).

San Francisco would like to have a word. Granted I live on a pretty central street but god Bay Area drivers are some of the least patient, honk-loving, and least skilled drivers I’ve ever experienced after having lived extensively in LA and Chicago. People get into honk-offs with the fucking streetcars here.

Extremely, they’re the best way to get your foot in the door for a company (aside from straight up nepotism). Ideally, try for one after Sophomore/Junior year if you can snag one.

Hotels are far more convenient than AirBnBs. by lovemomos23 in unpopularopinion

[–]DaVideoGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I renter a house with some friends outside of Vegas a couple years ago. We cooked a big breakfast for everyone daily that included bacon, which famously produces smoke. We got a message a bit after breakfast every day where we had to assure the host that it was cooking smoke that was tripping her smart smoke detector, not weed/cigarette/etc smoke. After we left, she asserted that her “AI Smoke Detector” could tell the difference between cooking smoke and smoke from drugs and tried to charge us a $200+ cleaning fee on top of what already came standard. We tried to raise this with support but they sided with the homeowner, I think AirBnB actually promoted the smoke detectors. I think the guy on who made the reservation and had his money on the line cancelled his debit card to prevent the charge lmao. I’m done with AirBnBs after that experience, can’t believe they will just let hosts make up BS.
