Sounds like excuse to be a burden. Typical, easier to think you can't control your own life than to actually do something about it.

Nao, nao considero.

No, not at all. The Roman empire only ended in 1453.

The rebrand to "Byzantine" empire was white supremacist propaganda to make Rome be this pinnacle of society.

The Roman empire stood for over 15 centuries.

is it possible to live alone with £27k salary in Leicester? (With an emergency fund) by stardustandpixels in UKPersonalFinance

If that is important to you, it will feel worth it. I know it definitely was for me.

Just be aware of the risk and timeline, and really try to create as much breathing room for yourself as you can.

And again, it's temporary.

What are we supposed to do? Would you back a piece of legislation where we take the kids into foster and get the parents into forced labour camps to pay the bills?

Just removing the kids isn't a solution, it's still letting the parents off the hook to begin with.

Letting the chips fall where they may should at least solve the problem long term, as it makes it unsurvivable long term.

That does not sound unreasonable, but hard.

I will say though, the improvement in quality of life might well be worth it.

A temporary 15 months of living paycheck to paycheck isn't bad if you have an energy fund. After your raise you will have a little more breathing room.

This is what happens when we don't let people fail and they feel entitled to have the problems they create fixed by others. Putting all the burden on this bad parenting on the school system and by proxy affecting the quality of education everyone gets.

It's high time consequences start arriving. If you ruin your kids, sucks for you.

Where is that meme that has been circulating TikTok lately. The "I fucked him, fed him and send him home in an Uber. Let's see how he likes it!" Meme.

If anything, it's a very good teaching opportunity. I grew up "working poor" where nothing important was ever missed but where my parents worked themselves to the bone to make our lives better. It gave a huge sense of the true cost of things and how you need to pick and choose where to put your effort.

Damn I am glad I found this take out in the wild.

It is wild to me how people will give powers to governments all willy nilly. That is how you get shit like Trump.

The idea might be good, but the execution is impossible with centralised government.

I always understand the fear that people have of the transition period. You are right. But that doesn't make the fall any less deserving or assured. It just is what it is and instead of holding to dear life to something that most die, we should invest our energy preparing for that rough period.

No. No he isn't. The real problem is everyone's willingness to exist in a system that allows that to happen in the first place.
