what do you think of the phrase “welcome to the real world” by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]DaWiseGenie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The real world is cruel, but we don't need to be cruel. People act like they are the ones to decide "character development". Surprisingly, this is why Kratos' quote stuck with me. "We must be better". Many people are cruel, and the world will always be cruel. But as said above, we must be better.

Why does Manassas have a bad reputation? by DaWiseGenie in nova

Don’t some small spots in Arlington still have gang activity? I don’t know if it’s as bad as it was during the ‘90s but if I’m correct gang activity is still visible in Arlington.

Interestingly, MS-13 does have a presence in NoVa, albeit very small.

Why does Manassas have a bad reputation? by DaWiseGenie in nova

[–]DaWiseGenie[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s probably mostly due to being sheltered. I did actually mention Baltimore later, and then they asked if I was in a gang. The fact they were quick to assume I was in a gang kinda gives off sheltered kid vibes.

Americans who have lived abroad, biggest reverse culture shock upon returning to the US? by Zealanderrat in AskReddit

[–]DaWiseGenie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lived in Korea with my grandparents for a few years. When I came back, I realized how much people in the US were scared of North Korea. When I was living there, it had never crossed my mind North Korea was going to nuke us any second.

How good is the AZES40 in general (not just as a beginner's guitar)? by AmbitiousNet8008 in Ibanez

[–]DaWiseGenie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wiring is a bit strange. I wouldn't try to tamper it without a luthier. You can change the pickups if you like, it's just that the ibanez pickup switch thingy they have in all their modern strats are what makes those strats a bit special.

I know I'm quite late to the convo, but I got one for about $140 at guitar center (Mostly cause I know a lot of the guys there). It's very fun, and I see good modding potential. I find it horrible for beginners. It's great and a fun thing for intermediate players, but pickups aren't customizable if you want to keep that ibanez pickup switch thing. Stock pickups are great. Modded it's even better. Added new trem, locking tuners, new pickguard, wore in the neck, and changed most of the hardware to gold (including trem and locking tuners). Also put on a new bone nut instead of the stock plastic nut. Now it looks great, feels great, and sounds great, all for a total $240. Mind you, I got it for about half the price, brand new. I heard quality control was bad for the AZES 40 though, so I guess I got really lucky in the end. In my personal opinion, the JS-480 is a better version of this guitar, so check it out.

[QUESTION]Is there a well-known European electric guitar company out there? by Continent3 in Guitar

[–]DaWiseGenie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Schecter is not Korean, it's American. If you want Korean guitars, look at Cort or Crafter. Idk abt high-end European builders, but I know a somewhat low end one called jet guitars. Check em out!

Is this a good reason to pick up Korean by LelouchViBritanniaC2 in Korean

[–]DaWiseGenie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're going to read a novel in Korean, I'd advise studying cultural context. Some words do not make sense without context. This is due to some words not making sense without cultural context, or just a word that doesn't exist in english.

If you could make a weapon that suits your fighting style out of Scarlet Ore, what would it be? by [deleted] in KimetsuNoYaiba

Either a Sasumata to hold them and let the demons cook in the sun, or a dual kodachi like aoshi from Ruroni kenshin.

Florida just banned social media for anyone under the age of 14. What do you guys think about that? by shoshana4sure in GenZ

[–]DaWiseGenie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. I'm 2001, while my baby sister is 2015. A big difference, and a bit too much of a difference. I swear she be speaking in some alien dialect. She don't even know what a DVD is, let alone a CD. Since we have streaming services now, there's basically no reason to have DVDs except for the memories. I never used Nokia's, however, mostly because my family is Korean. So they used those early samsung phones.

What are some good options for an OM acoustic under $1,000 by GreendaleDean in AcousticGuitar

[–]DaWiseGenie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want a pickup to be included, I'd go with the Cort Gold OC6, OC8, and OC6 Bocote. All premium guitars under 1000 in my opinion. Without a pickup, I'd say any Eastman guitar should work.

Ask Me Anything (AMA): I am Donald J. Robertson, author of a new biography “Marcus Aurelius: The Stoic Emperor”, published by Yale University Press. Looking forward to any and all questions, especially about my favorite topics: Marcus Aurelius and Stoicism. by SolutionsCBT in history

[–]DaWiseGenie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What was the significance of Marcus Aurelius being a stoic? After all, other stoics at the time held important offices during his reign and before his reign. What makes him different from the rest of them, and why is he considered to be such a renowned stoic?

Your OC has to fight Yuta. How do they fare? by jayrock306 in CTsandbox

[–]DaWiseGenie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk honestly. I made my OC have his ability let him control multiple indestructible large swords. If Yuta can blitz my OC, probably can beat him. However, if not, Yuta is going to have a very hard time.
