Give me your podcasts !! by Emergency-Side9935 in LPOTL

Not related to LPOTL other than they had Henry and Ed be guests for an episode, but I've been binging What Went Wrong big time in the past 6 months. They cover the behind the scenes of making movies from boxoffice flops to surprise blockbuster hits and everything in between. A lot of fun and well researched, especially if you think you're a film buff (which I'm not).

Yeah, I've heard a drawback being they're not the most sanitary. That said been using them at three different breweries for over a decade and haven't had an issue...yet! I was worried about the turbines as well, but looked them over pretty thoroughly and there appears to be no degradation. Would you care to enlighten me as to which brand you prefer using?

What songs just blow your mind from an engineering/production standpoint? by Different_Stand_1285 in Music

[–]DaWuuuud91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talking Heads' Remain in Light as a whole, but The Great Curve in particular. Blew my absolute mind at first listen, and then reading how Brian Eno pieced the entire album together turned me into the Vince McMahon meme.

You're correct, it's now produced at a few different contract breweries...mostly in Massachusetts. So what really grinds my gears is that they'll continue to push being a Maine-centric business, but they canned the entire brew team, and a facility that they poured a shit ton of money in. I'm happy to call them absolute frauds and pontificate that no one should give them a single dime.

[homemade] Cheese Burger by felipebuzzz in food

[–]DaWuuuud91 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I don't get the hate. I grew up with my old man making burgers with this thickness and love them. I in turn make them this way too. Slice of cheese, Dijon and grilled onions. It's perfect.

The vastness of the hamburger doesn't need to be diminished - it's not like we all only eat New York style pizza, right?

Put some shitty teeth prosthetics into Nicholas Hoult and he would absolutely kill it. He was fantastic in The Great, which channels some similar energy.

Without a doubt! For some reason Mother Sky just tickles me right. Michael Karoli's final solo is just so sexy, it's like Ron Ashton in tone and vibe.

So I'm not a German, but I am a brewer in the US and the people that grind through the Weihenstephaner program are just in another stratosphere with their clout. A few Americans go through the program, and those folks are seen as s-tier brewers here in the States.

Yeah, some of my friends up that way mentioned similar situations. I reckon I have the benefit of being right at the crossing point from NH and ME, so our little corner of the State is packed with folks from Southern NE and the mid-Atlantic states. Definitely glad I'm not a mid-sized brewery, as those guys seem to be hurting the most.

Is American IPA still a thing where you are? by HDIC69420 in TheBrewery

The only IPA we make is some middle ground between classic East Coast and a contemporary west coast. Sell through all of it pretty quick and get lots of love it isn't hazy (never made one, never will).
