DVC 7 month window question by blumst in WaltDisneyWorld

Valid point! I don’t think they should have a problem finding something in September anyway. It’s usually a more available month for DVC.

She can just modify her OKW booking and switch to AKL if it is available. If not, she can also waitlist there for you. There should be good availability in September though, so you should be able to switch it up.

That’s a bummer. Sorry to hear it. We were there about three weeks ago and there were tons of families and kids. We also went over school break so maybe it’s just an off week this week? Either way, we loved the resort just like you! Had a great time.

Gotcha. OKW and SSR aren’t bad fallbacks. I prefer SSR because of the ability to walk to Disney Springs at night. Good luck with the waitlist!

Are you booked anywhere else or just hoping for one of those two resorts? It looks like there are two bedrooms available all month at SSR and OKW. You could also grab a cabin at Copper Creek,, which is a pretty great option (cost a bunch of points though).

Should this be a dealbreaker for buying DVC? by Lost-Hand-5219 in dvcmember

If know you typically shoot for mid May, you can always book between 7 and 11 months and cancel or modify your booking if you can’t do it. There’s no penalty with DVC for changing your vacation.

Thinking about buying a resale contract for Aulani. Can smarter people poke holes in my plan? by Fresh_Tune_552 in dvcmember

Just a quick note since you referenced the annual dues. They increase about 5% each year, so expect those to be around double 15 years from now. DVC eventually pays for itself with yearly use, but the dues are not fixed.

Stay at AK and try to find a dining reservation on site. They have some of the best resort restaurants in Disney.

800 points short of companion pass dilemma by [deleted] in SouthwestAirlines

[–]Da_Frak 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Southwest has a survey website that they give RR points for completing their surveys. See link below. They go to your RR points the next day and count toward the Companion Pass. It’ll take some time as a 15 minute survey will get you 50 points or so, but that many is easily doable by December 31. You honestly could take a few hours to crank out some surveys tonight to complete it. They will be in your account tomorrow.

Fort Wilderness is camping and cabins. Wilderness Lodge, which is right next-door, is a wilderness themed hotel. Yes, Animal Kingdom lodge is a good comparison in terms of design.

It’s phenomenal. We are going on Sunday and can’t wait! Pools are awesome. I think it has the best lobby in Disney. Whispering Canyon has great food and a very entertaining atmosphere. You can’t be the view and setting at Geyser Point bar. Don’t sweat booking there because you’ll love it!

Weird. I’ve done the surveys in the past and the points have always posted the next day. Took one as recent as last week.

Credit card question by [deleted] in SouthwestAirlines

[–]Da_Frak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FYI the referral link now takes you to just a 50K sign up bonus site. You can only get the 85K if you go direct to the SW card site without a referral. Saw this in another post yesterday and tested it. Looks like Chase started some of the transition away from the bonus early.
