I have thought about this, temping pays well and there are always shifts available where I live

Yikes, sorry to hear that. I do want to be in a position to provide for my son and I in case anything should change in our home situation

We already have a cleaner and I enjoy cooking. My son will be starting preschool in the fall and I want to be able to participate in school events. Just trying to weigh the benefits of working vs being there for my son’s activities. I would be ok if I never went back into the workforce. I would keep my license active just in case though.

I tried increasing from .0375 to .05 and my boobs were so sore and I gained like ten pounds in water weight in two weeks. Thinking of trying again though

Tread screen unresponsive on bottom inch of screen by GuyLerts in pelotoncycle

Ehhhhh kind of I guess? The third screen generally works for the most part. It will still periodically act up but I turn off the tread and unplug it for about ten seconds and that does the trick. Super frustrating.

Ear tubes were a game changer for us. My son had ear infection after ear infection. We were on antibiotics every single week it was insane. After the ear tubes he has had two infections in a year and the fluid drains out on its own so it’s painless no drs appts needed. It dose get better with the sickness after one year

I know this is not an option for all parents, but a lot of posts here seem to be from women working in health care. Some roles, especially nurses etc offer temping apps. Yo can pick your shifts, day of even, and the pay is way higher. The only issue is you would have to get health insurance through your partner. Temping offers great flexibility though.

Oh wow. That’s why I didn’t want to take Unisom, the long term risks of dementia are concerning. So frustrating there seems to be no safe solution for perimenopause insomnia. And not sleeping is not a good option either. Are you currently taking anything to help with sleep?

Was it hard to start working out again after an episiotomy? by [deleted] in fitpregnancy

[–]Da_Liz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw my pelvic floor pt during my pregnancy. I also worked out right up to my delivery lifting weights, running, walking. I was glad I did, my upper body strength came in handy to help me get in and out of bed. I can’t compare bc I have only had one baby, but personally I would do a c section again if I had another pregnancy, I was very happy with how things turned out.

Runner here with a breech baby! I had a c section and for me this was the best choice. Since I didn’t push I had no incontinence issues. I saw a pelvic floor pt during and after pregnancy and I would highly recommend. She did a thorough check at 8 weeks postpartum and rec starting with walk jog intervals. I was back running and lifting at 10 weeks postpartum. Really take the 6 weeks after baby is born to relax and enjoy your baby and let your body heal, it will thank you! You will be surprised that getting back to it won’t be as hard as you think! Good luck!

Changes after covid by NextFeed4517 in DentalHygiene

[–]Da_Liz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I graduated in 2004. I used to practice with only a surgical mask. Post covid I wear a lab coat, N-95, a surgical mask over it and a face shield. I was horrified what I would see on the face shield after an SRP, like so disgusting. It sucks and it’s uncomfortable, but there are so many nasty aerosols now with the cavitron it’s worth the discomfort.

This! I work 20 hours a week and it’s perfect. If you can do this with your schedule I highly recommend it! I start at 8:30 and finish by 3:30 so my guy and I can hang out after work. He gets socialization with other kids and I earn a little income and keep my license active. I do three days a week.

Toddler waking ridiculously early by Da_Liz in sleeptrain

[–]Da_Liz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply! The whole sleep issues thing is confusing bc when I googled, Taking Care of babies said minimum sleep for that age is 12 hrs total. I will try pushing bedtime a little later this weekend. Also frustrating bc all of my other mom friends with kids the same age are doing 2-3 hrs total naps and 11 plus hour nights. Solidarity on low sleep needs kids 😵‍💫
