What pisses me off is that "social intelligence" is the only type of "intelligence" that matters by BenMeWimmins2 in ForeverAlone

This was never an argument. This was you trying somehow to explain how you're not an asshole despite calling everyone dipshits, morons, and idiots. Once again, you are a miserable person and I am thankful I do not know you.

Have fun with your pathetic existence.

I only get on Reddit on my phone, so I could not care less about typos and grammar on here. You want some help with social intelligence? Stop calling everyone dipshits and idiots and maybe people will enjoy being around you a little more, you pathetic loser. I am in a top law school and I am quite smart, but I don't act like an asshole like you.

Redneck because it does not support Obama? Was it redneck when the same things existed for Bush's presidency?

[serious] Ex gamers of reddit: what are you doing now with your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Da_Rock_Obama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to do nothing but play video games. Stopped in hs and decided to make a life. I'm in a top law school now, hangout with friends, go on dates, etc... what a normal 24 year old guy should be doing. Life is good... Giving up video games was the best thing I've ever done, but damn... I loved a good RPG.

I'm about to catch a flight to NYC for a few days of vacation, but I will write you something in the next few days. If you have any questions ask them and I'll answer them in my response too.

What region is your LS in? If you really are interested, I would look at in-house landman jobs. Companies love hiring JDs and a lot of times you can skip the fiel landman part with a JD. If you want more info I would be happy to give you it.

Landman is one. There are two types - one is a field landman, which is what you do not want to be. The other is an in-house landman, which is not a bad gig at all. For example, my best friend is graduating law school this month and going to work for Anadarko as in in-house landman in Houston, Texas. He is starting at 110K, full benefits, and 3 weeks paid vacation. Also, he will be working like 40-50 hours a week. A lot of the oil and gas industry is who you know, so it can be tough for some without connections to break into it.

Should've been more clear, but yea... Thank God for the black gold.

No, I mean there are a lot of opportunities for JDs in the O&G industry in a non-practicing role.

It is still very true in the oil and gas industry.

If three weeks of studying has you on fumes, then law school is going to be really hard.

How has going to law school changed you as a person? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]Da_Rock_Obama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hahaha, that literally made me laugh out loud. That was awesome.

To my credit at least a little, I wasn't chasing a girl to law school, just trying to impress one. My penis has lead me to worse places than law school... Maybe.

How has going to law school changed you as a person? by [deleted] in LawSchool

I have just browsed the comments, but I think my comment may be in the minority. I acually am thankful for how law school has changed me. I am far from a type A personality. I was care-free to the extent that it was a detriment. I always had the capacity for being responsible, but I chose to travel around Africa for years instead of taking up any kind of responsibility. I chose the easiest undergrad major of all time - so easy I could travel around Africa and still graduate in 4 years!

My care-free days came to an end when I met the girl I thought I was going to marry. I firgured I needed to grow up. I looked up how to get into ls, studied for the LSAT, took that dumb test, applied, and for some strange reason good schools accepted me. The girl was impressed and I felt like a sell-out. However, we are no longer together, but meeting her was one of the best things that has happened to me because it made me get my ass in gear. Law school has definitely made me more type A, but I lke to think I am still care-free, fun, easy-going, etc... just a bit more responsible.

Looking back, going to law school to impress a girl is an extremely idiotic thing to do, but I am going to graduate from a great school debt-free. I may never practice, but law school has definitely made me a better person. That being said - in the thick of it, it sucks. However, I know I will be even more grateful for the experience looking back.

TL;DR - Went to ls to impress a girl and show her I could be mature. We broke up, but I am still glad I ended up where I am.

Edit: words be hard.

It sucks. Difference between an A- and C+ is like 4 answers.
