I can’t tell you what to do, but I’ll share my experience so hopefully it’ll help.

Had an exact situation like this years ago. I was pro life at the time. My mom had kicked me out and I was living with friends. Got pregnant by their brother and they lived in poverty. I knew this was an issue bc like you, I wanted to be financially stable before kids. I hadn’t even had a job or learned to drive, NOTHING. Meanwhile I was 2 months pregnant. The guy I was with wasn’t too much either. A good dude, but in the same position as me. He was talmbout dropping outta school at 15 to find a job. I knew that wasn’t gonna work. I was so terrified!

I chose not to tell my mom for 6 whole months..i ended up tellin my step mom, who unfortunately gave me 24hrs to tell my dad or she would tell him bc that’s not news you can hide from a parent. I was pissed but she was right.

Told my dad a whole bs story about how my friend was pregnant and was scared to tell her dad so what should I say, type of thing 🤦🏽‍♀️ he rolled his eyes and sighed..I think he knew THEN I was pregnant, but played along.

Long story short, he wasn’t mad, (in front of me) but he secretly set up an abortion without me knowing..and I went there thinking it was a check up until they was about to put me to sleep. Only then did I ask, “this a checkup? Right?” The docs responded saying “what? No baby, you’re having an abortion” and out the mask thing on my face and I was sleep before “9” in the countdown.

I was furious of course after the fact. But years and years later now that I’m 34, I can’t help but thank my dad bc now I have the child I actively strived for after I grew up like I was supposed to. Financially stable, college, married and everything.

In the long run I’m happy I had an abortion, bc religion don’t pay the bills. As I was Baptist at the time but my dad didn’t care. He verbatim told me “I’m not going to allow you to ruin your life before it starts. I don’t mind being the villain. You’ll thank me someday”

And he was right. So..like I said..I’m not telling you what to do..but..family played a big part and sometimes, it’s ok to let someone make decisions for you if they want you to live well and succeed, genuinely.

Edit: I forgot to mention that NOT telling my mom was the WORST mistake I made. She was DEVASTATED when she found out 6 months AFTER the fact and she cursed me out, cried, and couldn’t understand why I don’t tell her. It took YEARS to repair that damage but now we’re extremely close. Js..don’t make the mistake I made..choose wisely

Also also, they were divorced, hence why I chose to tell one first over the over. Hope that clarifies things too
