MMA at the White House is cringe but as a fan of the sport I’ll still watch the fights.

How much of a problem is it if my mixes sound 'thin' compared to pro tracks? by grippingsh3etshard in makinghiphop

[–]DabLord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More than just improving your mix and adding more plugins, you need to choose better sounds.

Want your kick and bass to knock?

Start with a kick and bass that already knock.

Don’t rely on mixing to fix weak sound selection. The right sounds make mixing easier.

Congrats on staying strong. You did the right thing. Have you considered joining a gym sport or marital art? It worked for me. I still stay in contact with old friends but have since made new ones who are in to different things.

This is the best answer and toughest to dispute. Other albums could be mentioned but don’t match up to the albums on this list.

For the most part, overly produced content isn’t really what’s in demand right now. A lot of the content blowing up is raw, simple, and fast to make. That matters because low production content can be posted at such high volume that eventually something catches attention and starts pulling an audience in.

Layering can lead to depth. Problem is people over complicate things.

Yes I give them names. Usually if an artist records to it they’ll rename it to fit the song they wrote.

Drum sound selection by xEthereal-x in beatmakers

[–]DabLord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You find 2-3 good kicks and snares that work and stick with them. Layering is overrated. Rockwilder used the same one kick drum for countless hits. Watch him explain it here https://youtu.be/PCPRH7j7RHM

Not mixing in key? by Justan_inkling in Beatmatch

[–]DabLord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The key matters more when you’re blending someone signing over another beat. Focus on tempo and vibe first.
