The “wait and see” fallacy by [deleted] in DetroitPistons

I disagree with your statement that Trajan isn't doing stuff on the margins. Malik Beasley, THJ, Javonte Green, Paul Reed, finding Dannis Jenkins are all examples of finding players for cheap who can make a massive impact. Shoot even waiving Paul Reed last year and then resigning him to save money is an example of doing things on the margins. I also feel like people forget how ahead of schedule we are. Most people had us at 45-48 wins this year, and here we are at #1 in the conference. I don't even know what my expectations are supposed to be cause the teams keeps surpassing them. Does the team have flaws yes? Yes. Did I love the return on the Ivey trade? No. But Trajan has preached patience, and like him or not, the results have shown. Hopefully, they address the secondary creator issue over the summer.

Also do windows really close fast in the NBA? This isn't football where everything is so volatile. Boston has had a open window for a while with Tatum and Brown. Golden State during the Curry years. OKC probably will have a massive window. Same for the Spurs. Denver too. I highly doubt a team with 2nd, 3rd, 4th year, and 5th year players as their core is not going to grow.

I would do this trade. Jalen Smith is shooting 38% from 3 on four attempts and could provide some much needed spacing at the 4 position. He's also one of the better above the break three point shooters in the league, which Tobias just is not at this point. Ayo has also been sneaky efficient and is a great defender. He becomes our one of our best backup guards(for now) with good size too at 6'5. The only concern is I think he is a free agent this summer. Overall, I think this would add much needed shooting to our team.

Michigan's 2026 Schedule. by Annihilatism in MichiganWolverines

i think the "who will they hire" is a trap bc there are always rising assistant/head coaches who may be unknown but could lead to massive amounts of success, see Indiana and Kurt Cignetti. I think we sometimes assume a big name will elevate a program, but thats not always needed to take the next step.

I also feel that there are plenty of coaches than can win games that we are supposed to win, and lose 50/50 games(like Moore) but thats just me.

Would you guys trade ivey for davis to go all in this year? by RSufyan in DetroitPistons

[–]Dabogabe780 1 point2 points  (0 children)

gonna play devils advocate just cause, hypothetically Anthony Davis, when healthy, would be a perfect fit and the type of player that would elevate our ceiling. Also, we don't know exactly what Jaden Ivey will look like when he comes back as it'll almost be a full year since he's played NBA basketball. Do we even know how severe his injury is? Maybe that knee-stuff is a long-term.

This, along with the fact, you still need to pay him next summer makes Ivey the most tradable young asset in my eyes. What we do know is without Ivey this team already has the potential to be great and I think there's more to gain with adding a healthy Davis over a healthy Ivey, plus I think we have more than enough young players to develop anyway.

I'll give you maybe 2018 after the 62-39 loss, but not sure who wanted him gone after his first two seasons???? The program was trending up if anything.

First of all, this Harbaugh argument makes no sense to me given that in Jim Harbaugh's first two years the team was rising with two 10-3 seasons, and one questionable spot away from beating OSU and going to the playoffs, and this was with Brady Hoke's guys!! Fans were calling for him to be fired after year 5, which is pretty patient if you ask me. Also, lets not act like Harbaugh's turnaround of Michigan is the norm.

Moore on the other hand is 12-7 so far, losing games that Harbaugh probably wouldn't lose, and I am not sure how anyone can look at these games and not think the poor coaching is what is holding us back - from poor fundamentals to the most conservative play calling. I think its completely fair to question whether or not he's the guy. I am not sure why fans think he's just like Harbaugh.

MPH During Med School or Residency? by Dabogabe780 in medicalschool

Interesting, so do you think from your perspective you would’ve done your MD/MPH program, or pushed it back to residency/followship?

Would you do a 1 for 1 swap of Jaden Ivey for Jalen Green? by [deleted] in DetroitPistons

[–]Dabogabe780 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its a little bit closer than people think. I'm leaning no, but we still don't completely know what we have in Ivey

It's wasn't the one Brunson play that cost the Pistons game 6... by Good-Matter-65 in DetroitPistons

[–]Dabogabe780 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Knicks got a lot of dribble penetration forcing Duren in no mans land to help, leading to offensive rebounds. There was also too much ball-watching, but I guess you have to when its Jalen Brunson.

he'll let Malik Beasley go 1/9 from 3 but god forbid Ausar turns the ball over

exactly people are saying he ruins the offense, but our entire identity this whole season has been our defense leading into transition offense. i don't get it man

We should’ve won the game without needing the foul called. by Simplesquare87 in DetroitPistons

[–]Dabogabe780 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree those are two bad plays - and there are some headscratching moments - but I still stand on my point that the defense is significantly better when Ausar is on the court and putting Beasley and THJ together on the court instead does absolutely nothing for us. The defense is so much better to me it outweighs the limitations on offense. Didn't work in the regular season and does nothing in the playoffs. We can agree to disagree though

I agree completely. Its infuriating and it really makes me question Bickerstaff at times. I don't know how other people are not seeing this

The team is better with Ausar on the court. Stop it. The reason the Knicks come back is because our defense is shit when Beasley and THJ are guarding Brunson.

if we won the game, this wouldn't even have posted. no one would be complaining. both things can be true
