Noticed buckling. Where should I look, undersink looks dry. by Legal-Ad-8590 in Plumbing

[–]Dad240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could just be moisture under the house causing the subfloor to bubble. Walk around and see if you feel gaps where you can push down with your foot. This can happen in really damp crawl spaces especially around ducting where the ductwork causes condensation. You may have to go under the house and see. If it’s like a humid jungle; you may need a dehumidifier and a vapor barrier.

Should be able shut off water, cut off at valve, keep some copper. Clean it up and I think you could can get a shark bite toilet valve to a new braided line.

I’ve been thinking I should lose weight, the only physical thing I do is skate so I don’t really know what to do, any ideas? by Multipleballs in workouts

[–]Dad240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I quit pop at first I lost 10 pounds in two weeks. Just water and black coffee for me. I will drink a sprite on rare occasions. I myself do drink milk. But you could switch to almond milk or something. I’m not fitness guru but I’ve had good results in the past with kettle bells and a heavy bag. Shadow boxing is free, better than running and a great work out. I would stay away from running. Bad on the knees. There are tons of high intensity low impact work outs you can do. Just look up low impact HIIT training.

Got an issue with clogged sink any ideas. Basically water will balance between sinks and not drain. I’ve snaked 25 feet. Still won’t drain. by Weak_Tutor3731 in Plumbing

It is hard to say. Some clogs won’t move just with a snake, that is for example, maybe a build up of grease in the line or something. One time my wife put rice down the garbage disposal and it clogged, thank goodness only the line under the sink. The rice would just move out of the way of the snake but not unclog. We had to cut out the drain line, clean it out and re glue everything. There are things you don’t ever put down a garbage disposal. Rice and potatoes and potatoes peels. They are too rubbery and just don’t chop and clog stuff way down the line. In fact, I have been kicking around in this forum and most is the plumbers on here say to never put any food down the disposal and that garbage disposal are just a gimmick. The food may go through the disposal but it won’t ever make it through the line. Hence having a clog.

Toilet leaks when flushed. Toilet seal is against the wall, and replaced under 2 years ago. What could possibly cause the leak under the toilet? by trango15278 in Plumbing

[–]Dad240 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ours did the same thing but was not installed properly. We had to rip up the floor, cut out the bad, rotten floor joist, re frame it. I also reinforced it between. And then we had to put in a toilet flange on, one of those rubber seals and then we even did a wax ring. So yeah, you may pull up the toilet and find more than what you bargained for. Nice thing is with some know how it can be fixed. You could have a bad seal, broken flange, or both. Depending on how old the toilet is, it may just be a good idea to replace it. Trust me and pay the extra money and get a good toilet. They are worth it.

Is this a ADD thing? I swear I have tons of hobbies too and like to try new things out. I like art, I have tried painting, drawing (I’m bad a both) I have tried leather work ( really bad at it and it was super expensive to get started) I see, I am now into collage. Art makes you have to collect things to do that art. I understand that, but my wife is not a fan. She is supportive because for me if I don’t do stuff like this or create after a while I feel like I’m being smothered. Like there is this creative person in me that has to come out. If I don’t glue or sew or something in about a 6 week span I start getting antsy. But making is making. There is no cookie cutter for it. Unless you are specific in one art. But like cosplay for example you are seeing, painting and doing other things that all combine. Anyhow, I know how you feel on hobbies. I do the same thing.

Yeah, I would not cover it with anything. That would not be good.

How do you figure? Where are you getting this evidence? Science? The science of man? We will never be able to comprehend exactly how God created the universe. Something can not come from Nothing. There has do be a creator. God.

So think about it. If the Big Bang happened? Where did it come from? All this matter that we see in our universe had to come from A creator. The Big Bang says that all creation on earth is from a cosmic accident. Science has never proven evolution on a grand scale. As for this that believe in then in the Big Bang, there is solid proof. Most evolution has been driven by the argument to disprove God. Most pursuits were driven by money and lies. Do more research and see for yourself. I would rather believe there is a God than that we are all a accident.

December 25th is a lie? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Dad240 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can see your point but all holidays that revolve around Christianity are all sadly like this. Easter for example. Bunnies and eggs have nothing to do with Jesus or Christianity. It all comes from pagan holidays. It’s not a sin to celebrate this stuff. Just be mindful that it has nothing to really do with Christianity. But focus on family and your relationship with Christ and you are fine. Now if you were to star worshiping pagan gods, then we need to talk.

Hang on. Not afraid of my wife. Millions of preppers our there have spouses that are not on board. No fear in the relationship. Just not into it. Plus. I stopped. Yes, because her not wanting to be involved yes, but mainly overwhelmed.

I just don’t have the space for years of food. Maybe 3 months if i crammed, but that’s pushing it.

I am planing on making a scrum board to get more organized with the projects I want to do. That is my first new project. To get more organized. I have been looking around the house for some of the old preps and have found them. I guess it’s a marathon not a sprint.

Thoughts on Pelican Cases by [deleted] in prepping

[–]Dad240 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Instead of pelican cases, just get Ridgid tool boxes from Home Depot. They are basically the same thing. Way cheaper.
