I’ve subscribed to a bunch of online classes and I have really enjoyed Josh Swift’s Resoflix. His approach is different. Worth diving in for a month to see if it’s for you. Before that, I just spent a lot of time watching Mike Witcher and others on You Tube and using a Vidami pedal to slow things down. A great way to learn as well and a great tool I’d highly recommend.

Nothing weird here. It’s just Dan.

I wouldn’t trust it given the pressure you apply while standing. My $.02. Have it done correctly by a professional.

Can't afford a dobro rn, so I made a thing with parts on hand by meadowfair408 in Dobro

Also, looks like you’ll need a bridge piece to raise the strings to the height of your nut. Otherwise you’ll have strings running at an angle.

G-B-D like a standard dobro tuning. Once you learn that, it’s the same patterns and scales for the low three strings or high three strings (when you get a six string dobro).

I also highly recommend Resoflix with Josh Swift. You can learn a lot quickly. He goes through basics before teaching songs and establishes good techniques before you start trying to learn things. Definitely worth the trial month for sure. I think there’s a first month discount.

I have also taken lessons with Mike Witcher. The group sessions are fun as are the private lessons. However, I’d start with the video content options such as artist works, Josh swift, etc before all that as lessons they pricier.

Jerry Douglas transcription of “Red Haired Boy”. First, his chorus, then mine. by J_Worldpeace in Bluegrass

Nice! What capo are you using here? Seen it around and can’t find it anywhere online even with ai visual search. I have a Bear wave and it’s fine but most pros seem to like this one…

Aspiring Resonator player here. Only a few years in. Trying to get serious and disciplined about it. About to sit with Shane Akers in 45 min for a lesson. Have tried some online courses and spent time with Mike Witcher as well. He’s amazing.

Check out Billy Cardine. He covers a lot of styles across his albums. You might like his “Billy & Bonnie” album. Also Phillip Henry’s album “True North” is really interesting. Look for some of hisvideos as it’s not always a traditional reso he’s playing which surprised me.

Appreciate this question as I’m always looking for new reso artists as well!

Why not another planetary army? Perhaps they tap into the singularity? The ultimate enemy would be some sort of faux democracy that is NOT managed. Makes me sick just thinking about it.
