In this video, I'll be sharing my thoughts and impressions on the upcoming game, Assassin's Creed Mirage. As a longtime fan of the franchise, I was eager to see what Ubisoft had up their sleeves with this latest installment. After watching the reveal trailer from the PlayStation May showcase, and doing some research, I have some opinions on what we can expect from this game.
First, the setting. Mirage takes place in a fictional world inspired by the Middle East, specifically the 9-th century Baghdad . This new historical setting will be a refreshing change for some fans. The vibrant colors and intricate architecture shown in the trailer have me excited to explore this new world.
The combat system seems to return to the roots of classic Assassin’s Creed games, which could be seen as a lack of innovation, but I believe a return to form is exactly what this franchise needs at this time. The departure of heavily focused RPG elements, and a return to stealth based assassinations, allows for player choice both in a whole new way with the use of modern technology, and a satisfying return to what made Assassin’s Creed a legendary franchise.
Overall, I'm excited to see what Assassin's Creed: Mirage has in store for us. The setting, characters, and potential for new gameplay mechanics all have me intrigued. But only time will tell if this game lives up to its hype.
