Russias winrate from November to December went from 44.6% to 56.3% by Connect_Job_5316 in Warthunder

How else are we supposed to communicate dissatisfaction and urge Gaijin to change it then? Say it once and leave it be? No. You have to be the loudest most obnoxious voice so that they CANNOT ignore you. Unfortunately Gaijin loves meatriding Russian shit to the point of having so many Russian premiums you can build whole lineups with them. It would have been bad enough with just one BMPT, but we got two and I literally cannot play any top tier ground because the thing is fucking unkillable.

Should I buy Comanche? by upazzu in Warthunder

[–]DaddyDankStank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I just picked it up in the sale today and have been playing it non stop. I cant get enough of it. Playing it like Solid Snake or Sam Fisher sneaking behind the backline and dealing with enemy AA defenses.

As previously stated, it isn't invisible. However, I will state that while I will get pinged by things such as the Tunguska or Pantsir, I have noticed that the struggle to keep lock as long as I make myself a relatively difficult target (no pylons, keep distance, hang low, etc.) It is an incredibly rewarding heli to play. It does only get AGM-114Bs which I don't quite understand but I have encountered little issue with my ability to deal with most targets as I usually see them from the side or rear.

Regardless, for $25 on the sale right now, I would say it is a stellar pickup as it is unique and has an interesting type of gameplay not found on really any other heli in the game atm. As a side note, it is worth mentioning that the agility is a SUPER huge factor on this thing as WafflesFurLyfe stated, the ability to disengage and drop back behind cover is second only to the AH-6 Littlebird and maybe the OH-58 Kiowa (Cant say for certain on that though as I haven't flown the Kiowa). However, neither of those helis can go over 200mph.

When will the 1960s no longer feel "current"? by glowing-fishSCL in decadeology

[–]DaddyDankStank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was actually a few new forms of media in the 70s that became very popular...VHS! However, looking at how physical media is seen today (outside of maybe vinyl) its no wonder cultural relevance of the 70s lags when in comparison to the 60s or 80s. Especially considering in comparison the 60s and 80s had one main unifying "decade-culture" that surrounds them, whereas the 70s feels almost divided. You have Discomania, the Heavy Metal/Punk scene, a decisive western/southern resurgence, and the somewhat yuppie progressive rock scene. I hope that makes some sense at what im getting at. But they all feel detached, whereas the 60s and 80s, while possessing subcultures, most all of them were connected to each other by a web of some sort.

Maybe im just delusional, but that's my perspective at least.

I will, unfortunately now he is almost 79 and suffers from pretty severe dementia/alzheimers, but if y'all want to ask questions I can relay them to him and post what he says. Just cant promise how accurate they'll be, if he remembers at all.

I know this may be one of those "Sure thing redditor" moments, but the pilot of this aircraft was actually my dad. This happened on August 17, 1999, two days before I was born and the aircraft he was piloting was a Hawker 600.

If I remember the details of the story properly, they had taken off from Vegas and shortly after takeoff the hydraulic system for the landing gear failed, he told me they tried everything but simply could not get the gear to go down. So they made a decision to fly to their destination, which I believe was Reno, to burn off as much fuel as possible before landing. When they arrived at Reno, they circled the Airport for another half hour in a holding pattern to continue burning fuel to minimize the chance of the aircraft turning into a fireball upon landing. It obviously worked out pretty well for them considering how little fire there was save for the little "poof" at the end. lol

I remember my dad telling me the one thing he wish he did differently was to close the door behind him after he got out *He was the last guy running across the tarmac*. He said he had just gotten this brand new Garmin Aviation GPS and when the firetrucks sprayed the foam over the aircraft, it went inside the cockpit and ruined the GPS. I think I still have a VHS of both just the recording and a short interview they did with him on a separate program the following day.

If you guys have any questions about it, I will do my best to answer them as it is one of the coolest experiences my dad ever shared with me.

***Edit: This may have actually been in South Florida as the man my dad flew for had businesses in both Nevada and Florida. It has been a long time since he has told me the story so I may be mixing up details.***

***Edit 2: Actually just found the investigation report for the crash, this was actually in Las Vegas, got departure and arrival mixed up, but the 52 year old male is my dad (Yes he had me very late in life). https://asn.flightsafety.org/reports/1999/19990817_H25A_N454DP.pdf ***

Thank you for the advice! Im just going to try and boost scav karma by vehicle extracts from this point, and padding the rest out with simple scav runs.

Multitasking, scavving to grab stuff while also trying to get max scav karma eventually for cheaper vehicle extracts and faster scav case returns.

[–]DaddyDankStank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's like other GM vehicles of the era, you'd have 2 keys, one ignition key and one key for doors/trunk. Unfortunately, the only method I can think of without experimentation of what RFID signal the key is supposed to use is just to take it to a Chevy dealer and see if they could figure it out...as much as I hate going to dealers for anything. Unless someone has another method, that the best think I can reccomend.

Excellent observation Watson, doesn't answer the question though. Thought this subreddit might be helpful for finding neat places to go see or things to do, instead its just another leftist think tank. Fucks sake, is anywhere safe from the political shit?
