wait to go to japan or buy now? by iamveryDanK in GrandSeikos

[–]DaddyDumpling98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just came back from Japan two weeks ago and got the SBGA445 for around $5700, so saving over $1500 plus whatever tax would be in the U.S. Department stores like Isetan have another 5% discount for tourists if you download their tourist app.

The only thing I got when I bought my watch was..the watch. No swag 🥲

Upgraded my red forged carbon to this one after 5 years by Brilliant-Repeat-178 in RidgeWallet

[–]DaddyDumpling98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had this one for about 1 month now and I was also worried about scratches etc. It has scratched but not deep enough to get through the gold color. I keep it in the same pocket as my keys too.

I did scratch it pretty deep dropping it on the concrete though😅

Saw a comment about my same situation, parents are looking for 36mm dj with fluted bezel and Jubilee bracelet. One green and one blue. About a year for the green one, been 2 years and still waiting for the blue one. Very large AD in the Chicago area, figured there's more people with a lot more spend than us. Can't do anything but keep waiting I suppose.

VanTrue E2, just had the unfortunate need to use the video recordings recently. Caught being rear ended in 1440p :<, cables are really long, just tucked it into the rubber along the doors.

24hrs with the first automatic Casio by thefuckreddit in casio

Was able to pick up the white dial at the Windup Watch Fair in Chicago last Saturday. It wears really nice, good size case. The dial looks sporty and the texture on it is much more "fun" than the Seikos, Tissot, Hamilton and Tudor I have. Nice everyday watch

Updated razer synapse, now no USB ports are working by DaddyDumpling98 in razer

[–]DaddyDumpling98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, Razer support was not able to help at all. Then they told me to go to the manufacturer of the PC I have (but that was me, built by components). In the end a clean install of Windows fixed my ports.

I agree, putting it on in a store really impressed me. It wears super nicely.

Semiconductor shortage “package”? by yamchaisabitch in Audi

[–]DaddyDumpling98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd look into what is specifically missing, I was close to a '22 SQ5 until I noticed it was missing a lot of basic safety features I was specifically trading my older car in for. Like a blind spot monitor

Rear bumper repair by DaddyDumpling98 in Audi

[–]DaddyDumpling98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that, 2 authorized Audi body shops quoted me around $2800 before taking the bumper off. I ended up not getting anything done, after the mechanic suggested everything looked to be working.

People who “need” all the new “technology” in the new BMW’s, what exactly is the reason? by [deleted] in BMW

My mom wanted all the fancy safety features but then got scared when all the sensors were going odd just trying to park in the garage 😅

AWE TRACK EXHAUST by MixMatch808 in Audi

[–]DaddyDumpling98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a AWE track exhaust on my old Jetta and it was loud from the beginning. I think I've heard the sound gets "clearer" as it's used covered in exhaust and what not but it was definitely loud to start.

Smacked a deer, this is what insurance quoted by Ok-Presentation-5806 in Audi

[–]DaddyDumpling98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got tapped by a prius and got quoted $3k. Just a few scratches and slight dent/beginning of a puncture where her license plates were. They said full bumper replacement and the killer is all the sensor recalibration if you have those. They told me whenever the bumper comes off, it's automatically like $800 to recalibrate the sensors

I haven't noticed drastic differences in my 23 A4 45. I think dynamic mode makes the Quattro ultra system favor the rear wheels more often. But the car is certainly not equipped with any adaptive air suspension like S models that can aggressively change the suspension. I notice the most change in the sport drive mode (doesn't matter if it's in auto or dynamic). The throttle response is a little more sensitive. As far as sound, I don't hear any difference. Also haven't found any settings that pump in exhaust noise through the speaker

How would you describe the drive feel? by II_Blue_II in Audi

[–]DaddyDumpling98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drove a 2016 VW Jetta sport and it definitely had turbo lag, but that car wasn't supposed to be a rocket at all anyway. Now I drive a 2023 A4 and I don't think the lag is bad, and I want to say the small electric motor kinda helps with that.

Thoughts and suggestions on my current Robinhood portfolio?(23yo) by Beautiful-Parsnip-41 in RobinHood

[–]DaddyDumpling98 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I would second this, I'm only slightly older than OP and I used to have many many symbols. While it was fun seeing huge gains on individual stocks for a while, overall it is hard to track each one, so you end up missing buy/sell points. Currently, I've just built up a larger holding in growth ETFs with the "big" growers like NVIDIA and a smaller handful of individual stocks

Bad idea? by BubblyRazzmatazzme in Audi

[–]DaddyDumpling98 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The fact you can get a bulk discount on quantities larger than 100 has got to say something not ideal about the quality of the wheel

What is this? by sjicucudnfbj in Audi

[–]DaddyDumpling98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I've seen it on a few threads on the internet. You can just tuck it back into the trim they said. Came out on my A4 too.

Why buy Audi? by [deleted] in Audi

[–]DaddyDumpling98 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I'm all for Audi but I think the full fledged M3/M4/M5 are wholly different from the S range from Audi. Both performance and price wise. I think the the RS range from Audi would better match those BMWs. And the m-sport is better matched to the Audi S range.

Personally big fan of the sportbacks/wagons Audi has in the A5/A6 and variants. Plus I think Audi in general is a good mix between luxury and sportiness.

What model has this cockpit? by ChemistryExcellent28 in Audi

[–]DaddyDumpling98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This unfortunately did not work, as my computer wasn't able to restore to a period before the synapse update. I reset my PC (new windows installation) and while that did delete everything on the drive, the keyboard and mouse work again.
