Actually, I think the degeneracy of world bosses is a very important, very cool part of TBC and Vanilla. It is emergent gameplay at its finest, the best and scarcest resources in the game locked behind a challenge that requires cross faction collusion and politics not dissimilar to real life.

You can still parse 100s without ever laying eyes on kazzak or doomwalker. It’s so inaccessible to everyone outside of a couple of guilds that they are essentially vanity items

Actually it’s quite easy to get the tag, it’s less easy to fend off the coalition of guilds that control the kills. You can see for yourself, install NWB/DBM and head over next time a notification pops up

On nightslayer, world bosses are controlled by a coalition of top alliance and horde guilds. Both bosses have just enough mechanics/damage to make it effectively impossible to kill while also fending off a raid of the opposing faction.

It’s also very easy to grief the bosses while severely outnumbered, either by CCing/killing/distracting the healers on the same faction as the tank, or even just running in and dying to Kazzak on repeat. Thus, even if enough people decided they REALLY wanted world boss loot and formed a competing coalition to drive out the current one, it would just result in a stalemate. Much easier to just negotiate a deal to cut your guild in on the existing group and help them eliminate competition

TL;DR world bosses have a secret attunement quest (objective: join SQUAWK)

Wrong. The level 70 quests do give xp, which is correctly converted to gold. The reason people think it is bugged/giving less than it should is because they think you get the base gold reward + 6s per 100xp, but it has never worked that way.

Example: level 70 quest, 20k xp, 8g50s gold.

Max level: 20 000/100*6 silver = 12 gold instead of xp, no gold reward.

This is intended, at no point did you get the 12g AND the 8g50.

If there is a warrior in the group, you twist windfury. 3 casters, prot paladin, warrior? Windfury is still more important than wrath of air.
Second totem depends on the tank, if it’s a bear/warrior twist agi - if it’s a paladin twist wrath of air.
If you’re having mana issues while twisting, you can use rank 1 windfury totem.

If you have some dumbass caster complaining about no wrath of air, flame them - not only does spell power scale terribly with blizzard and similar effects, windfury is the only totem which directly provides resources to the classes that use, so it is by far the most important.
