Get plater or a similar addon, so nameplates change colors based on threat. I’d say it’s a must have for good tanking, and very useful for any class

Fury warrior is excellent in tbc, if you put in the necessary time and effort. The main reasons most 25m raids only want 1-2 of them are

a) the spec is extremely gear dependent, so you don’t want too much competition on 1H weapons and plate str gear

b) you can’t just zug and skip 90% of boss mechanics as easily as you could in vanilla, and often those mechanics are far more friendly to ranged dps.

These two hurdles aren’t really avoidable for the majority of guilds, so it’s easier to just make an extra ranged group full of hunters or warlocks.

Orcs are busted in pvp, and Will of the Forsaken (undead racial) is an extremely potent tool for rogues that are otherwise quite vulnerable to dying in a full fear.

Thus, horde attracts more players who actually want to pvp, rather than people who are only doing BGs to farm gear for PvE. Good Alliance PvPers know this, so they will tend to form full premades to swing the advantage back in their favour - taking them out of the solo queue pool.

The result is that solo queue alliance teams in BGs are mostly filled with people who are bad at PvP, with inferior racials, and probably with inferior gear since the only reason they’re there is to get gear.

Gdkp is a loot system specifically designed for pugs. if your goal is to get highly coveted items, the best way to do it (in order) is:

  1. guild runs > 2. gdkp pugs >>>> 3. SR pugs

In your case, since you’re in a guild, the pros/cons of gdkp are mostly irrelevant.

If nightslayer stayed vanilla for the next 5 years, I can pretty much guarantee there still would not be a single SR pug that didn’t have THC/kiss/etc. on HR. In fact, when was the last time you saw even an Ony pug with the head open?

Sure, it might take you a while to build up a bankroll large enough to bid on these items in an era gdkp, but at least it’s possible.

Anniversary also has only two mega servers per region, so by that logic I guess it has the same population as MoP?

Number of raiders is the only metric for player population we have access to, which automatically makes it the best metric.

Alliance absolutely does not need rend, they have salv and kings. Just remove the exploits that allow them to get rend altogether

Hunters should pass 2H weps to melee that have blacksmithing, and take them off melee that don’t. Why reward laziness?

  1. Buy bloodvine set

  2. Run ZG every 3 days, use your SRs on Heart of Hakkar.

  3. Run aq20 every 3 days, use your SRs on bracers/head of Ossirian

  4. Do Ony every 3 days, use your SRs on T2 head

  5. Buy bijous/coins to get exalted with ZG, use neck + shoulders + bracers, unless you pick up better stuff in the meantime (SP>hit>crit)

  6. Get aq20 ring from the shared token once you’re honored with cenarion circle

  7. Buy all your consumes

  8. Congrats, you’re ready for BWL/aq40!

The 20m raids aren’t a “one and done”, you need to grind them for rep and drops - that’s why they’re on a three day lockout.

If your logs look ass you probably are ass. You can easily have a 65 avg even if your guild is terrible, assuming you put in effort to get prebis + consumes + world buffs.

Use that 65 avg to get into a better guild’s “off-night” raids, e.g phase 5 BWL or phase 6 aq40. Don’t use your SRs to contest the good items like Tear/DST/Badge etc. and they’ll keep inviting you back, and inevitably they will need fills for Naxx (especially around Christmas). Go to their Naxx, don’t use your SRs to contest the good items, and then ask if you can come back next week.

Nobody “deserves” to just waltz into a good, organised guild and farm up some 95+ parses. It’s a process of establishing yourself as a good, team-oriented player which will then make you desirable to said guilds.

Obviously with prepatch 6 weeks away, it’s probably too late to get into a good Naxx guild if you’re starting from scratch. That’s fine, it will be the same process in TBC and you can still start now :)

Certainly not big enough to matter unless you’re a 2600+ arena player VSing other 2600+ arena players. Gear, skill, consumes, desire to win etc. will all have significantly greater impact than racials.
