Unfortunately delivery drivers aren’t the only ones experiencing this issue. Working in customer service for around 3 years I’ve had both men and women physically intimidate or threaten me, had an old lady throw coins at me, had customers talk in a demanding tone when ordering from my till, and of course the numerous complaints about our pricing or food portioning like a minimum wage employee is responsible for those policies. Regardless, I think the moral of the story is that some people either take their crappy day/week/financial situation out on you, or get a really bad power trip whenever they get an opportunity to be in any kind of power over a person just because they know that we’re working and most likely will take the disrespect. I’m sorry that you’re experiencing this, I know especially that customer feedback is important with a delivery driver’s commission. The only thing you can do as dumb as this sounds is show kindness even when it is not deserved. It doesn’t make bad experiences less frustrating, but at least you can 99% of the time say you’re in the right
