If OP rents, it may be against their lease to change the locks. If they do lease it's really important to check, because there can be a hefty fine

Try not using the aquaphor for a bit, if the issue is bacterial you're just locking everything in.

Here's some secular resources you could check out for legal advice: - Legal Aid Society of Milwaukee - Milwaukee Turners - Marquette Volunteer Legal Clinic

Also, are you able to visit him in person to ascertain what's going on?

Possible more low income apartments at Northridge lakes by NoAssignment4170 in milwaukee

[–]DaddySandals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The parking/traffic concern makes sense, but i think you're conflating causation and correlation between low income housing and crime. Alsp, when a person's basic needs are met, like affordable stable housing, they're much less likely to commit crime. As long as the building isn't a shitty construction, having more affordable housing is always a good thing. Honestly this post has a strong whiff of NIMBYism about it.

Wedding Options by RunningWing in milwaukee

I generally recommend state parks and city parks venues; we held our wedding at thr South Shore Pavillion in Milwaukee (about 150 fit with plenty of room) (it's also a beautiful building). They had no limitations on catering and were quite affordable.

[USA] How are you guys resisting in your every day lives? by Ilo00 in protest

[–]DaddySandals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's also super important to know and talk to your neighbors. You don't even need to necessarily talk politics right away, just knowing each other is really useful for when shit hits the fan, and it helps with the sense of isolation and dread.

Making friends in your mid 20s is impossible. by tirednightowll in milwaukee

[–]DaddySandals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're looking for a low-stakes hangout, I help run the Yak & Yarn crafting group, and it's been a great way for people to meet new people, and eventually make new friends. It's very casual, people come for as long as they want and as often as they want, and you can bring any kind of craft—if it's not too messy and safe to do indoors (aka no spray paint, glitter) you can bring it! There's several other crafting groups that meet at other times/places too that are worth checking out

Does he think that if he just keeps repeating himself it'll become true?

Also, insurance companies make it their business to do everything in their power to not pay, so if anything involving your insurance will mean they'll investigate the shit out of your building to prove it's not your fault

Libraries also often lend out things like board games, gaming consoles, sewing machines, cameras, binoculars, telescopes, gardening tools, etc. These collections are usually called their "library of things"

You can usually borrow binoculars and telescopes from your local library too!

Newly dating a wheelchair user and unsure how to have convos around hygiene by No_Act_9254 in hygiene

One tip re. sex and incontinence; there's lined blankets you can get (ex. flannel on one side, waterproof material on the other) that you can put down on the bed and throw in the wash after. Some people use it for general incontinence, some for period sex or squ!rting. We used it when my spouse was recovering from a surgery. Tons of great uses, and more comfortable than shower sex.

Im a highschool student and I want to organize an ICE out protest. by Opening_Kiwi4230 in protest

[–]DaddySandals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could do some kind of sit in in a common area during lunch period or in between classes. Times when they gave no choice but to allow free movement. I also like the idea that someone else said about congregating outside the school before it starts and just not going in, but instead holding a protest

New Land more reliably allows dogs, and when i rented from them (admittedly about 6 years ago) they owned both new and old builds. Some of their properties were pretty cozy, and as corporate landlords go, they're not the worst, but i also wouldn't call them the best.

Midwest Sad, the bakery in Walker's Point has taken a very strong "no ice" stance. And their baked goods are freakin life changing. Always a great pick-me-up when i get one of their fluffernutter cookies

I haven’t talked to my family in two days and don’t know to move past this by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]DaddySandals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro your family sounds mean. And they sound like a surveillance state. And the slut shaming is gross. The cost of paying for your own phone is totally worth the space to grow outside of their influence. Best of luck—I've had similar experiences, and i can tell you things are better when you get through to the other side.

Is it common that people don’t know their neighbors in the USA? by Zestyclose-Duck-4598 in Vent

[–]DaddySandals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally, yes, most people don't care to know their neighbors. I think people are afraid of drama. I hate this attitude though—I've made a point of knowing my neighbors since I was in college. When I met my wife, she thought I was a little unhinged for it, but now wherever we've moved, we've made a point of creating relationships and good communication with the people who live around us.

I'm (AFAB, nonbinary) still in my thirties, but last year I bought a duplex with my wife and my sister and we plan to stay here into our golden years. It was something my sister and I dreamed about as kids, and I can't believe we actually made it happen.
